Round 14 - Other Games

In all seriousness if Geelong Don't win the flag (They are no different to Collingwood & Stkilda when it comes to losing GF's, they're pretty good at it)
How long does Geelong's Board continue with him?
Very similiar to Buckley inherited Gold and has the good fortune of players asking to go there.

I doubt they will win the flag and i can't wait to see them go through another preseason with Walking Frames.

Quick question
How can Geelong have Hawkins Cameron Selwood Blivass Higgins Smith Guthrie and Menogla all under the cap?
Are the other 37 players on $8.50 per game.
Our have they got Hocking looking over there books???
Does Arfa Clench get paid out of a little brown paper baggie zippers? Ya seem to have missed him in the cap there.

The sword of Damocles hanging over Geelong is old age soft tissue injuries. So far it doesn’t seem to be a problem, but if they get unlucky they could lose two or three of their best players for a month. Seems to be hitting us more though with Prestia Cotchin and houlhi.

Right now Cats are clear flag favourites IMO. They are looking very strong and Cameron and Smith have been outstanding additions. No surprise about Cameron but I didn’t think Smith would make such a difference.

But the biggest surprise for me is the lack of drop off in their older players. I really thought they’d struggle with the game going back to full length and them being another year older. But they all appear in better form than last year.

Premierships aren’t won in June but gee they look good. I’m still spewing about blowing that game last week. I think we are the only team that can stop Geelong but we have most likely blown a top 4 chance and it’s going to be much harder to win it from outside top 4; especially if we have to play an interstate final. We really need to ramp up our form starting next week and get moving. A Richmond team at its best is probably the only thing stopping a Cats flag.

Yeah this is the key. They have not had a run of injuries to key players like we have had. For an old team they are very durable but we keep getting injuries to our key players. If the Cats get a run of injuries to key players they will be in strife; especially Cameron and Hawkins.

Agree
*smile* knuckle was celebrating after the game not just because of Rohans goal but it pushes his side further away from us.
He knows deep down we ARE the only team capable of slapping them.

That was an infuriatingly good win by Geelong. They found a way to score goals despite the run of play. Furthermore, they looked absolutely out on their feet in the last 10 minutes, while the Dogs found another gear. I had Geelong in my top 4 this year but the thing that will ultimately get them is fitness. They were great in the contest all night but struggled on the spread late.

Higgins is no better then Dalhouse.
Not sure why the media always included him when talking about Cameron and Smith.
Higgins dodged more 50/50"s last night then any player ive seen play this year.
Jibbers lose you GF's. Out of all clubs Geelong are the current chockers when it comes to losing flags.
I wouldn't singing just yet if i was a Geelong supporter. Just remember 1989, 1992, 1994, 1995, 2008, 2020.
They have only beaten Port, Stkilda and Collingwood who were in turmoil in 2011.

Read some of my posts Disco, i dont troll, mainly to to write balanced posts

any word on Duncans knee catman?

superb kick by Rohan last night. He has become the footballer he always threatened to be.

probably the best 3rd forward in the comp right now?

I expect to meet cats in another Prelim this year.

And I expect Chris's bother and Shocking to have it played on that soccer pitch you bloke call home

Rub down Rohan is having a very good season. But let’s see him do it in finals; that’s when he performs his disappearing act.

to be fair, he executed pretty well under immense pressure last night?

I think he's matured as a footballer, which often happens

Yes, annoying. Based on remaining games was probably only team who we could have leapfrogged into the 4. Not anymore.

Enjoy seeing Geelong lose more than any other, unfortunately doesn't happen as often as I'd like. Well run club.
