Round 12 - the Datsun 120Y games.

Beaten Cats and Demons, 4 goal loss to Brisbane, 15 point loss to Blues, so they're thereabouts. Only play 3 more games against current top 8 sides, Saints twice and Fremantle. Looking in good position to snag a top 4 spot.

They also have Dogs who are currently 8th and Port in Adelaide after the bye. Our run home is better than theirs and if we can cut out the undisciplined acts which have cost us two games RD 1 V Carl and last week V Swans and keep playing the way we have then I think we are also a real show for a top 4 berth.

Geez a lot of wishful thinking with most here writing off the Dees

They aren't as good as the media make them out to be.
They look like a side that has won 1 flag and that's about all. They don't look good enough to snag 2 or 3 like us.
I said it before they started to drop games.
This year's premier will come from the team with the healthiest list in September.
We need Balta Lynch and Lambet stand up for 3 mths, we are still in it.

Didnt see any of last nights game, however our form may be better then some are saying , had the Swans on toast , without arguably 4 of our most important players , we may just be ticking along ok

Of course they do. Swans academy zone serves up first round quality kids near every year for Sydney.

Anyway, seven goals last round and nine goals this round. Melbourne’s got a scoring problem.
They keep playing another lolnorf dud in Brown at FF hoping he’ll come good

Don't think anyone is actually writing them off but most see they are beatable, which they are. They remind me of us in 2018, dominating but looking sluggish as the season progressed. One would think they had it in the bag the way their supporters have been carrying on, even our own supporters in the early part of the season thought no one is likely to beat them.

What I see is this, some of their role players, aint playing to the level of last year and I say this even in all their early wins but more so in the last month.

Petracca has been average the last 2 weeks. If they lose a few key players they look average. They are not generating high scores, teams are putting a mountain of pressure on them and not allowing them to have easy transition from the back half.

Another key stat; Dees have gone from the No 1 pressure team in 2021 to No 18 this season.

They’ve fallen quicker and harder than we did in ‘18. We ran out of steam late in the season falling over the line against the Cats, Dogs and Bombers, but we did win those games. We also never lost at home, which the Dees have now done. The only real chink in our armour was games interstate, and I suspect that was more of a mental block than anything.

For Richmond: all we have to do is hold our own on the MCG.

There are two things I've been thinking about the Dees - the first is the lesson we learned - you cannot be up all year. If you start the year in prime form, it's hard to finish it. That was our 2018 where we limped home. So I'm hopeful that's the case with the Dees.

The second is their well documented lack of pressure this year, whilst still winning - that also reminds me of our 2018. Dimma learnt that we had to turn the ferocious pressure on and off - its unsustainable all game, every game - hence 'raise the fight' and we were great at turning it on from 2017-2020. Hopefully the Dees have not learn't how to do that - so far it looks like they haven't.

Wouldn't say our run is better. We do play the bottom 3 teams which is great (swans play 2 of those teams) but we also have to play Carton, Brisbane, Fremantle, Geelong (and Port twice if you're considering them for the Seams) and it's the top teams we've had real trouble beating this year. I can't see us making top 4, once the byes are over there could likely be 5 teams at least 2 games above us. But you always hope.

I'm enjoying the umpiring in the Port v Willy game rather than the comedy flogs in the AFL game between Scum and Dorks. How's Divvy Van's mini skirt looking?

Ginnivan would have to hold the record for most goals from frees.
