Round 1 - Changes vs Carlton

After all these years, it's nice to be able to finally declare this a danger game.

Banks/Ryan are 2 certain outs. I'm torn on Dow, willing to write it off as nerves and give him another chance. Unfortunately Kosi can't play football, not his fault we picked him up (I have a few Hawks mates think it's payback for Vickery) but he can't get another game if Lynch available. I'd prefer Miller down forward.

Dusty/Lynch/Nank (if available) all in.

Not sure who else goes if McAuliffe is promoted also. Probably Dow. But I kinda hope he doesn't.

In: Nankervis, Lynch, McAuliffe, Martin
Out: Naismith, Ryan, Dow, Banks

Lynch in for kosi
Dusty for Dow
Nank for Ryan
Ross for Banks
Clarke or Cumberland as sub
If Dion is rested then Dow stays or possibly debut McAuliffe
If Lynch and Nank aren't ready it might be ugly

If you are right about Kosi - can’t play - and Yze coached him at Hawks, doesn’t add up .
I know he fills a need , but Miller? Concerning for Miller that they rate Kosi higher?
On small sample size, I orefer Miller

On Kosi - have you ever seen him play a good game? You need to remember the likes of Hampson/Pattinson/Vickery all got taken after showing some pretty average form. At least Vickery had his moments at times. Tall players seem to be given multiple chances.

Kosi is cymbals Mk11. Watch where his hands are in a marking contest. It's almost guesswork. Even when he marks it it's usually double grabbed. He doesn't fight for front position when he should. He doesn't use his body well in one on ones. He doesn't hit packs hard.

I think Miller has more upside, but it's likely neither are a long term answer.

Really
Kosi can sure take a contested mark and kick goals maybe it’s a confidence thing

Ha ha. A year of highlights summarised in 4 minutes.

You know how many genuine one grab contested marks in that year against a genuine KD? 3! And only 2 were one grabbers.

Chest marks and double-grabbers interposed with the occasional joe the goose goal.

I love that they flashed up he was No. 6 at the Hawks in contested marks that year! No.6 at the Hawks!!

Na, he's not an AFL standard KPF. No surprise the Hawks got rid of him. No way they let him go if he had a future

It all changed for him once Mitchell took over
As for forwards he’s a better option than Miller who went missing in 2023

I think we are all quickly of the opinion we basically need no injuries to our top 6-10 players.

with balta forward the backline depth is rough as grimes has become a bit of a non or even negative factor - that game against port where he just marked everything coming in seems a long time ago
with lynch out the forward line depth is non-existent - oh for a contested pack mark

need some x-factor with martin /cumberland on top of shai

Not so much this week , however by the later games in the season I wouldn’t be shocked to see half the team changed , hopefully not by injuries

I thought he presented fairly well on Sat but couldnt get any separation for the life of him. Lacks a yard, lacks power spring. Does he have any smarts? Not yet. We shall see.
