Rookies for 2013

Looks like we will load up on AFL rejects again.

So disappointed.
 
Have you heard something mate? A ruckman I can understand but outside that I'd be hoping for 3 untried (or very young) players

I assume Scoop is referring to the jungle drums that have linked to Stephenson, A Maric, Toy and Pettard.

I'd be surprised is A.Maric was rookied again. I guess MA rookies only need a 1year contract, not two, leaving us well suited to exploit the SuperDuperDraft of 2013

We need to keep our options open for some of these superdrafts. I'm hearing that last year's intake at Auskick was the best they've ever seen.

I remember hearing that last year. GWS & Gold Coast will get more bumper choices. THe only upside of not making finals is getting high picks...
 
maybe we can re-rookie miller. insurance if a.edwards goes down.

we are using the rookie list incorrectly and we will regret it.

I think that sums up what many think. Therefore ,why not take a punt on Garlett?
That's what rookie drafting is for but all clubs seem to treat the preseason draft with to much caution.
There must be a comparison criteria in rookie draft philosophy of " wayward kid / elite talent vs experienced middle aged player who has been dumped"
Has to be room in a rookie stable for an outstanding colt. Mark Williams was recruited to break this type of colt in. He has a reputation in being some kind of whisperer doesn't he?
 
2013 Rookies

Verrier - Certainty
Darrou - Certainty
Garlett - Unlikely but worth the risk IMO as a rookie
Stephenson - Likely
Petterd - Likely
Nelson/Boston - Unlikely but would love one or both of these as a rookie
Toy - not sure....
 
No mention of David Fahey?

Anyone know what he is up to?
