Robin Nahas

King, we don't need a second 1/2 small forward. Is it North that has more than one small forward - oh they finished 9th!

However Carlton do play with more than one small forward, and so do Hawthorn and so do the Swans. It's not the end of the world having more the one, it's the level of quality that is the issue. I don't think Nahas and King are necessarily the answer, however both had good years and you need to reward that effort or you risk disenfranchising the entire team.

Nahas is the best player in his position (small forward) on our list.

Does that mean we should condemn him for this? Of course not. It means we keep him at the club until we find someone better.

And I'd suspect the club will reward Nahas for his "half-decent" year with a top 5 finish in the B&F.

Good summation. Proved a handful on many occasions by working hard and kicking goals when we needed them.

I'm interested to see if he can find another level in 2012.

You want a ruckman don't you? You have to give something to get something, and I can tell you now we have many a player that could fulfill Nahas role on the list

Kidding me right? After years and years of having no-one at all, we're finally finding some depth in that area and you want to off-load our best performed player in the role for the year? Not convinced with King and regardless he'll be 28 at the start of next season. Probably has until his contract expiry and that's it for him. I wouldn't be trading Nahas based on his form this year.

Exactly right. Nahas is doing his job very well. Will be interested Brownlow night how many he polls early. Some of those 25-30 possie games with multiple goals should be eye-catching with his run and carry.

Adolf will wet himself everytime Robbie's name is called.

Not sure it was due to his role changing a little throughout the year, but early on when he was running his guts out more then any player, he was a joy to watch.

His ability to gut run and keep running, was something we are not that used to over the last few years.

Would have had an extraordinary year, if he was able to maintain that, however I reckon when the team stopped playing well at times he wasn't able to keep that run going, hard to do it all by yourself with no others running with you.

I think his effectiveness was reduced through a concerted effort of the opposition to knock him over at every chance they got. I lost count of the number of times he was hit, scragged and tackled 'after' having disposed of the ball - to stop his follow-up run through and receives. Was a real shame the umps didn't give Robin some reward for his effort.

This is a big knock on his game, not really his fault though. The difference is that King can take the big hits and not get taken out wheras his disposal isnt as good as Nahas. Hoping D.Mac can get some games and show us what he has got.

In the final game of the year against Nth Melbourne I thought Nahas was just about our best and most energetic player. So I wouldn't say he had lost his puff by the end of the season...

The little big man looks set to improve even further on last year. Hopefully can spend larger stints on the ball.
One to watch.

He's a good case study for 2nd year blues. Impressive first year. Calls for his beheading after year 2. Year 3 steps up another notch and now looking to continue to in year 4.

Another PSD freebie.

more than just impressive last night

gee with miller jack...king tyrone ..nahas,,and maric as fowards..with martin and lids resting down there.and then derrikx and anton..we might be develpong a few choice choices for a pretty potent foward line

Developing into an important player for us. He was probably the best in game 1 I thought. Makes things happen in tight situations like the Chimp and Martin do.

Please don't mention him in the same sentence as Cotch and Martin.

Absolutely. This is the ability that sets very good players apart from the rest. Nahas had this at VFL level, and I for one was very excited at his potential for us. Up until now he has shown glimpses of what he is capable of , but the challenge now in his 4th year is to do it consistently at AFL level. Good game last night, hope he keeps them coming.

Fully agree with this. Definitely looked our sharpest player in the first game. Excited about want he might bring this season.

Nahas was a very creative and explosive player last night that will require close scrutiny by opposition clubs during the year, keep it up.
