Didn't Collingwood stitch us up with Brett Chalmers at some point ?

They got him across eventually but I think that was after he was banned from AFL for a couple of years for draft tampering or something like that

... And that buffoon basil must be one of the worst commentators I have heard

Gian Roonery not much better. So flat.

Haven't heard it but Whateley's radio call was getting a wrap on twitter.

I think he got to Collingwood 3 years after we drafted him,He refused to come over then our hold on him had expired.
He got to Collingwood but was found to have engaged in draft tampering (told all other clubs he'd stay in the sanfl.
He was fined and was ineligible to play with Collingwood for 3 years. They traded him to Adelaide the following year

Agree. I don't have much time for rugby but I really enjoyed this game
Fast and furious. Gee those girls are tough.

The 7s are the highlight for me so far. Looks like such a fun game.

It wasn't Basil who called the Chalmers win, some old fart with Nicole. At least on the channel Seven stream.

He completely botched it. Missed the moment by a country mile. It was the worst call I've heard in a long time.

Wow think that gold was Fiji's first Olympic medal of any kind.

Despite gymnastics being half-sport, a quarter-dancing-without-the-stars and a quarter-fashion-parade, Simone Biles is one hell of an athlete.

He is. And amusing that he's one of the few professionals busted for drugs and admitted it.

Wasn't it cannibas though? Not exactly performance enhancing.

Or was he busted for something else?

Cate Campbell misses a medal as red hot favourite. Swam 1.2 seconds outside her PB. Disappointing. No medal for Bronte either.

McEvoy missed the 50m final after his disappointing 100m result. Those 2 would have been pencilled in as gold medals before the games.

Mitch Larkin swam well for silver in 200m backstroke.

As a big Norman fan, CCs performance in the 100m free has to be as big a choke as the Shark at the Masters in 96.

Pull yourself together Gian, woeful predictions in your calls, fitting of your sportsmanship shown in your defeats.

Just listening to Gerard Whateley on ABC radio. He said that CC absolutely blew the start. She almost false started and then rocked back as the buzzer sounded. It appears she tried to make up for it by going like a cut cat in the first 50m. She was over a second in front of both winners at the 50m but swam like a brick in the last 20m. On that basis it could be considered a massive choke.

Whateley also said that the swimming hierarchy would be very disappointed with the results so far. After starting in a blaze of glory on night one they've fallen in a heap. He said they would have been expecting golds in both mens and womens 100 & 200 backstroke and only ended up with one silver out of the lot. Emily Seebohm didn't even make the final of the 200m, and event in which she is current world champion. McEvoy another world champion who has failed to translate results to the Olympics. Missed the 50m final.

I guess it shows how much pressure is on for this once in 4 years event.

She defiantly panicked, *smile* it must be tough, all that training comes down to that one moment, I suppose it just shows why there so few absoulute Legends of the Olympics.

The Yanks are just bloody amazing at living with been the best and then delivering when it matters most, I suppose there's so much pressure in competing over there from a young age.

Our swimmers for years just seem to try and be all happy ,cool and smiley when it's time to switch on
