Richmond vs Hawks in Tassie

No Dusty forward? I can't recall him sitting one out as a deep forward.
If so i like it cos I feel we relied on it too much and went there too often

I only saw one slicing angle kick out of the backline into the centre square.
You know these kicks were all the rage last season, to cut the angles and open up the ground.

The kick was by Biggie in the last.
Ripper kick and obviously breaking a team rule.

Instead we chip chip chip.
Pity as this may be too defensive and easily defended

Tiger faithful dominated 70 : 30 at minimum would be a rough guesstimate. Your talking Richo land in Devonport with the Gales down the road in Burnie, Nank and Mansfield from Lonnie all close by.

Tassie has always run deep traditionally with saints and tiger supporters.
Was very interesting to hear Kennett and Peggy dodge the question!! (half time interview?)

Everyone loves to pontificate about TAS having a standalone team ................... but when the numbers are crunched I think you will find they simply dont add up! (let alone internal TAS politics - north v south)

We wouldn't scream for a central VIC team (merge Ballarat, Bendigo, Shepparton etc) yet ironically the numbers would be similar!

Never lose sight that regional (greater) Newcastle has a similar population to the entire TAS! and most people in TAS already follow a team!

Do 30,000 Tiger supporters all of a sudden jump ship and follow/supprt the "Tassie Devils"

Pfffftttt

Entirely stupid if AFL grant a new team licence in TAS

.............. but I'm often wrong :(

Well - for me I would continue to support the tigers as a paid up member but I would also see me taking out a membership of a Tassie team - as my second team - which sorta blows your argument to Mars.

Me too. As someone born is tassie, i would 100% buy a membership for a tassie team but still fully support Richmond as well and would always be my first team. Been a member for 20 years now but couldn’t not support a team from tas.

The missus younger bro moved to Perf n married a local many years ago. He's a rusted on Tigers supporter, but his four kids all Frockers supporters. Lived in Freo area so they all went for their local club.
Give the Taswegians a home team n plenty of mature rusted on AFL club supporters will obviously keep their lifelong team but also support / contribute to the home side in some way. Reckon there'd be 90% or more of the young kids coming through that will support the Taswegian team, it'll only take a generation n there'll only be a handful of rusted on old farts in nursing homes not following the home team.

Been shown to happen in Perth and zAdelaide already.
Everyone in Perth would have had a vfl side. Or put another way how many of the Eagles supporters in the first years didn't originally have a vfl side... even Lillee and Marsh were mad tigers. Now the next generation are mostly local.

So if Tassie get a side, then existing clubs don't lose supporters who immediately switch sides. Instead there will likely be dual support. But in a generation or two it will be mainly tassie

Had three goes at it. Jaaack just needs to learn to shut the *smile* up or he'll be giving multiple 50's away every game.
Why not try it in a meaningless praccy match to see how far you can get away with it.
Looks like the tipping point is 3.

The numbers have been crunched and reviewed and reviewed.

Financially it all adds up. No-one is questioning that now. Absolutely no issue on that front.

It will happen as well. Will be voted in by clubs this year. amazed if it isn't.

Jack will be very heavily involved in the promotion of the new team in coming years you would think.

I don’t think it’s a given yet although I reckon almost all interstate sides will support it , they’ll do anything to weaken the VFL grip on the comp

Under the new official AFL ruling the tipping point should have been 1 n Jaaack should have been pinged 50 the first time he opened his flap n vented. Got away with a freebie in a meaningless practice game. Hoping he doesn't get sucked into thinking he can be flapping his vent three times during a proper game because it's a guarantee that the maggots will nail him with a double 50 for his troubles.
