Richmond vs Hawks in Tassie

The numbers have been crunched and reviewed and reviewed.

Financially it all adds up. No-one is questioning that now. Absolutely no issue on that front.

It will happen as well. Will be voted in by clubs this year. amazed if it isn't.

Jack will be very heavily involved in the promotion of the new team in coming years you would think.
Already the North and South are arguing about a new stadium and how the North won’t support anything in Hobart because it’ll mean too many games will be played in Hobart.

How you generate a definitive home ground advantage playing at different venues across the state is beyond me anyway and highlights the unique challenges.

They copy Geelong and make the Tassie ovals a ridiculous shape that no one else can play on. And keep Tassie devils in the opposition change rooms.

Yeah. Ovals plural being a problem though. North West coast is over 3 hours away from Hobart, not an hour like Geelong is from Melbourne.

The smart answer is to introduce 2 Tasmanian teams.
Added benefit is the afl get their marketing dream of a local derby

It's a bit of a stretch. Henty was a Brit whose family moved to WA and struggled, went to Tassie for a bit and then established a settlement in Portland (not Melbourne). Batman established Gotham City just a year later. (Convicyt settlements were established before then.)
True, I am deliberately pushing the barrow a bit for the sake of facetious banter. But I am not entirely wrong to state that Batman and Henty settled Victoria from Tasmania

And you are right, they were both technically Brits who had spent a bit of time in Tasmania, before coming across to set up shop in Victoria. Batman having a reputation of being a *smile* of a man, among blacks and whites alike in TAS. Mind you, who (apart from the natives) in the colonies that went on to form Australia, was not British at that stage?

And who wasn't a *smile*?

We are too lax in glorifying some rotten people in Australia's history

Off topic tho sorry!

Managed to watch a replay ,

Was very impressed with our ball movement , I realise it was only a practice game and it was only a weak hawks side ,

But it looked new and fresh and the players seemed to be enjoying it ,

Hopefully Teague proves to be a great asset ,a failed head coach can still be a great assistant , leppa was proof of that , early days but he seems to have made a good start

Tassie in - North out - win win - common sense
What's not to love about that?
Tassie wants their own team with their own colours n the opportunity to build their own history, not a bit of leftover crap that Vic doesn't want.

Didn’t say that!
My first preference has always been for North to just disappear up its own backside and make room for a brand spanking Tassie team.

Still time for that. Start with a Tassie Maps and if they struggle to get going, merge them with @lolNorf but keep the Maps colours, name, song, but maybe add a small @lolNorf on the back of the jumper.

They should just build in Ross or somewhere similar.

And put the opposition change rooms on the far side of the ground so any opposition player who need treatment need to go an extra couple of hundred metres around the boundary line first and a few extra minutes off the ground.- small thing but it really *smile* me. even the away coaches box is on the far side from the interchange benches- meaning the coach cant just duck down to the bench if needed, but the Cats coach can.

???? All I did was quote your post n then explain what was not to love about your solution to the Tassie team conundrum. What are you denying saying?

*smile* them off none gives a *smile* about North.
Most irrelevant club in the history of the game

No biggie - just that I hadn’t even hinted at Tassie being forced to accept North.
Two separate issues - Tassie in - North out
