Richmond vs Hawks-Game day thread

I generally agree with your sentiments but I'm just so sick of watching pitiful losers play for RFC that I couldn't really get pissed off if a top footballer like Lids decided to look elsewhere to seek success in his chosen career. He won't see it at Richmond.

I hear ya mate and feel your pain.

Deledio is 50/50 to stay in my opinion. I would think he will have a feeler to see what other clubs are offering, and of course he would want to see who our new coach is and what plans he has for him.

We cannot afford to lose Deledio.

Is there any evidence at all, apart from poster comments on here, that Brett wants to leave? I know he was bemused earlier in the season when contract negotiations hadn't been initiated.

Love to know where all the speculation has come from as well.

I can understand if he looks at other options but realistically I don't think he'll leave. He'd more than likely want to go to a big Melbourne club and none of those would be able to offer RFC a decent trade. He won't risk going PSD to either Melbourne or Freo so I reckon he'll end up staying. Hopefully the new coach has half a clue, unlike our recent coaches including Rawlings, so a top player like Lids can at least see a modicum of success in his career. The way it's going all he'll end up with is the record for the most number of games without a final.

well what a terrible game..

one positive is Jack getting some decent coloured boots :spin

Yes we were ordinary against Hawthorn.

But let me tell you it would have been worse if we had won with Simmonds, Brown and McMahon being best on ground.

Our skills deficiencies were so obvious tonight that our new coach must have seen who has to go and who stays to work over time in the gym and kicking.

Typical Richmond effort tonight. Sums up the last 20 years. The desire was there no doubt. Everyone put the head on the line and body over the ball. But when we got the ball we butchered it with dumb footballers making Auskick type skill errors. No point naming them the same people will trot out the same defence but the results speak more then any post on PRE.

Our three smartest footballers? The sad fact is that one is a washed up, one legged very unlucky Nathan Brown. The other one is a recovering drug addict. The other is our B&N'f winning star who is out of contract. Sad facts indeed. These are best users of the ball and smartest footballers.

What a bunch of softies I saw tonight. Cuz gets whacked by Duddy and no-one confronts him.

Even more stupid were the umpires who should've reported Duddy and given Cuz a free kick but instead give Hawthorn another shot at goal.

As for Klutz Graham, he might as well look at playing basketball.

They did stick up for him, McGuane just gave someone a whack in the guts and gave away the free.

All I saw were a few shoves from Riewoldt and McGuane.

Stuff Ottens he left for money and no other reason and we all know that what came after was just lucky for him. If we allow any players we have that are good to go then we may as well sit back and continue to watch the mediocrity that is and has been dished up.

What do you expect? A more violent action with more frees and goals against.
No need for violence. Just a bit more aggression from our players showing some 'in your face' teasing / sledging.

Those shoves were as light as feather.

Just watching the Duddy & Cuz clash on the replay shows Duddy with the elbow in and whacked Cuz in the face because he lowered his head a bit and hit Duddy's shoulder. However, as the ball was still rolling near Cuz lying face down, I noticed Duddy give Cuz an unnecessary slight whack to the head with his shin.

Another sub par player is McGuane........... a dumb, sub skilled footballer and should be moved on .... but he has a go, so does King, Jackson, White and Polo and none of em are any good or going to take the club to sustained success.

Time to cut hard and get rid of sub par VFL types.

Makes it tough when the blokes you see having a dip are the ones with major basic deficiencies.

(Lids exempted from this generalisation.)

All year I have talked about dumb unskilled footballers and singled out McGuane and Jackson. Jackson is number two in the AFL for clangers and McGuane is ranked number two at Richmond. Nuff said. The skill level of these two is horrible.

Buddy got a week.

Was a free but I don't think he should have been suspended.

I do not agree with the rule, but under the rule he should have got weeks.

I am against it but the rule clearly states (in my wording :hihi), if you have an opportunity to tackle and elect to bump, then if you hit the head, bare the consequences.

Do not agree with it but under the rules he deserves the consequences.
