Richmond vs Gold Coast Game Day Thread

I know he is one of our best players and I know for many criticising him is akin to shooting bambi, but geez Deledio's effort at that last centre bounce was poor for a player of his stature and supposed leadership.

One of many players who made very very costly errors at the death.

yes one of many many errors at the end, but to suggest noone will criticize Deledio is a little wrong, in fact im astounded at the lack of praise he is getting for his game. Many many posters praise Cotchin (and rightly so) for his game, and for carrying 21 teammates, and for being the only one trying etc etc. Lids was fantastic for the entire game, except for that one play. he, as a mid, played 92% of the game. that in itself is pretty amazing. he led the team for Inside 50s and rebounds from the defensive 50. he led the team for tackles and clearances and picked 36 disposals.
he played a great game and many refuse to acknowledge that.

Most have given him the two votes for the game behind Cotchin with three so most obviously rated his game pretty highly.

I agree he played very well and was with Cotchin streets ahead of the rest IMO. I guess with the focus on those horrible last 50 seconds the errors that players made in that time have taken the gloss off the remaining 99.99% of the game.

Let's not forget the Nahas miss 20m from straight in front at the end of the 3rd qtr that would have given us a 9 pt lead instead of 4 pts at 3/4 time.

quite a few havent given him any votes. each to their own but that astounds me. and as i said plenty have been happy to dump him in with the 21 'non-cotchins' who didnt try and were generally hopeless, on the weekend. that should astound me but actually doesnt.

Well said brodders my sentiments too lids was brilliant but funny over running that ball has led to critiscm....I luv cotchin to but he gave away 2 goals a stupid late attempt to spoil which cost 50 mtrs and a goal plus a clumsy fall on the back which led to another goal to GC...gee can imagine if lids did that and cost 2 goals u wouldn't hear the last of it...

On the kick by tuck gee it was perfect well weighted and derrickx dropped a soda he marks it we win no 2 ways about it and I reckon if that same kick was kicked to derrickx 10 times again he wouldn't drop one but just an inexcusable dropped mark....

The loose men around the square at the centre ball up are a real indictment though.
At the ground you could see Gus calling players in to the centre bounce, maybe because they didn't realise Cotch was off? So Grigg bolted in to contest the centre and that left his man free on the wing. Another player bolted from the forward line (IIRC) to Grigg's man and was effectively in no-man's-land when the bounce happened. That is where GC's free players came from.
