Richmond v Westcoast cancelled????

The word Fiasco comes to mind.

Best to cancel the whole rest of season 2020 which is a joke anyway.

Strewth, Bris. Those of us in Victoria would happily be in Queensland's position right now. Why would you ignore medical advice if there's a chance you could end up with a second spike like we have?

The expert medical advice from Professor Murphy (CMO) and Dr Kelly (Deputy Medical Officer) has never advocated for closure of state borders!
There are no clinical grounds or rationale for state borders to remain closed.
I suspect the QLD medical officer is simply doing the bidding of Palachook to suit a political agenda, rather than following expert consensus.

When was Geelong no longer part of Victoria - Suns still allowed to fly down and play the cats - what am I missing?

I wish my daddy was Shocking.
We have had our game relocated and date changed.
While they sit comfortably without any issues.
Its alright to force GC to stay in Melbourne, why can't they just send WC down here and when the borders in WA open up, then send them home.

In Hindsight the AFL probably would have played out the season differently by having two conferences as they call them in the USA. All the Vic teams play only in Victoria during the season. All interstate teams should have played at a mid point say Adelaide. The top four from each conference play finals where it is deemed safe.

Opening up was the issue. Gathering in groups of 20 indoors sent the wrong message.

On any day in the last three weeks, there has been congregations just as large at any of highpoint, chadstone and the cbd, simply because we wanted to keep retailers happy and the economy going.

Kids/young adults are congregating in high numbers every day at school, and have been for a month.

You have to wonder whether less people would have been game to even get out to protest, shop, or congregate, if we'd locked down harder and longer.

Please present data that supports this. NSW had larger gatherings earlier than VIC but no big outbreaks. Same with other states.

Schools - please show the virus transmissions within schools. From what I understand children are catching it from family members and testing positive from that. Please show the data that demonstrates in school transmission anywhere in Aust.

Highpoint/Bunnings/Chadstone have been busy for 3 months. Bunnings sales are actually lower now than they were a month ago and a month before that.

How many of the last 2 weeks cases are related to Cedar Meats/hotel Quarantine? Neither have anything to do with restrictions being lifted.

They can't/shouldn't as even if you count Geelong separate to Melbourne, Geelong played Melbourne in Melbourne last weekend which under the new Queensland rules would necessitate Gold Coast being in quarantine for 14 days after the game.

That's not the remit of the CMO, @SpaceAce

It's up to the states and their CHOs as to whether they close their borders. Some have, some haven't.

That is a wild accusation to make of a senior health professional and one that, frankly, would be dismissed by 99% of the population.

I'm no ScoMo fan but it's to his eternal credit that he's parked his ego and allowed the medical experts to make calls based on science and facts, not crazy conspiracy theories or other such nonsense.

x2. I think all the Premiers and the Feds are at least sincere in following medical expert advice.

Do you guys see this as an advantage or disadvantage for the Tigers ..hopefully with the longer break we can regroup and do a lot better on Sunday

Oddly enough, I think the change is better for us. We don’t have to travel and we get longer to recover from the game against the Aints.

how do you know the % breakdown of activists across municipalities? send a link to the data. My bias would say Yarra, Moreland, Bayside as in St Kilda Elwood , Stonnington around Prahran etc would be equally inclined but I declare that is bias and stereotyping.
If we were winning I think your interest rate would rise... did you go into Hibernation 2004- 2012?

ah - another layer of inconsistency that I didn’t pick up - I wonder if the AFL or the Qld government saw it.

The other option was to simply move our game against the weagles to Sydney and problem solved (the weagles fly on home afterwards) which of meant no change to the other 2 games.

I reckon it’s a disadvantage to us as there is no way the weagles will get any worse and there is now a good chance we will play them in Perth and the club perhaps needed an excuse to get away as a team and I think they were all looking forward to that aspect also.

Could well be a disadvantage if WCE get more consistent when they go back the the most isolated city in the world.

As for cases and the BLM demo, there is no evidence for this and demonstrators came from all over Melbourne, so, why no spike in cases all over Melbourne, why no cases in other states where demos were held and why so many of these cases where we know the cause can be traced to indoor, hours long, family events?

As for GC, please tell me they are flying onto Laverton and staying in Geelong??

Disadvantage, even though we should beat the Dees (although who the F knows). A soft trip to Gold Coast to play the crappy eagles who want to get out of there, vs later season at Optus? Big big disadvantage in the overall scheme of the season.

Okay ............ I kinda vowed not to get involved in the politics of this again (less my Peanuts cartoons further offend people?) but I'll try and KISS:

a. this has no genuine link to the BLM marches
- that's not to excuse the inept endorsement!
b. the AFL is trying to do the best it can in a MAD political environment!
c. there is no evidence or science to support the decisions that Comrade Dan and Inbred QLD are making!
- COVID19 is little more than a virulent flu
- the mortality rate continues to drop remarkably
- the numbers in VIC are indeed increasing - because (in part) the testing is showing up every person with CV19 that previously / simply didn't report
eg many of you have already had it - and didn't know it!
I won't even talk about the volume of false tests (eg a certain AFL player - and hundreds others!!!!)
- TBH - if NSW ramped up similarly we would find thousands are/have been infected
- it's a meaningless statistic - kinda like a speed camera on the dual lane Hume Highway (wheras our hospitalizations and deaths continue to drop!)
- Premier Dan has welcomed the distraction from the Branch stacking, PFAD's and Bush Fire Inquiries
- Inbred QLD is actually appealing to her base (amazingly!) and is actually likely to get re-elected accordingly!!!

I got shouted down a few months ago when DyerTribe asked for statistics. ..... okay - it takes ten seconds to read beyond the headlines - and if you can refute a single statement I've made - you're welcome to repercharge.

Never before have I been so embarrassed of our media and dumb public!

This is absolutely fake news at it's best.

Shame on the Federation - and empowering these idiot State Premiers!
