Rich V Carl - Match Day Thread

He's fine. FUlly vaxxed and scarcely a sniffle. But we are all locked down for 7 days. No one else in house has caught it. Thankfully. But they need to look at changing the rules, my daughter has missed a week of school and been perfectly fine. I'm lucky that I can work from home (I can go to work as an essential worker but haven't chosen to.
Vossy will be starting the new trend CFH next week - Coaching From Home.

Our defence held up well bearing in mind how poor our midfield were.
Agree with that. Whenever one of our rucks actually got first touch on the ball, time and again, the only mids in attendance at the drop of the ball were Blues with the Tigers just watching on. I hate to say it but the Blues wanted it and we didn't

On First Crack on Fox Footy with King, Montagna and Dixon they showed footage from Rich V Carl "a few centre bounces" in the last qtr, when the blues went on their merry way. Carlton had one player loose and as soon as the ball was bounced all our boys went for it, always one blues player staying out to receive the handball if they won the ball which they did at will in that last qtr. Kennedy wins it slips the handball to Cerra and he is off, or Hewett to Kennedy and off they went. Even on the night when Cripps won the ball, they used handballs to go forward from the centre, no real hack kicks if they could avoid it.

At that time our centre square set up was Soldo, Cotchin, Graham and Aarts and Soldo, Cotchin, Graham and Baker

?? Cerra ???
Super Coach will coach via Zoom.
Voss not being there will be more beneficial.
Take away our undispline acts and our basic set shot misses (4) the game should've been over at qtr time.
Pity even the 2 Doofus coached wins over Footscary.
Get ready for a week 'how good Voss is'. The media's Buckley part 2.
They will need to oil the doorways to fit his head back in.

I said to a blues mate, yep you got the 4 points but let's not kid ourselves here, your highest goal scorer was Richmond with 4 goals by 50-meter penalties, that won't happen again.
Plus losing Prestia our best clearance player didn't help us also. They literally can't comprehend losing quality players in-game what it can do to a team, how would they have gone had they lost Cripps in the 1st qtr

Yep, was just about to post about Prestia. If he doesn’t get injured a good case could be made that we win.
Sure there were a couple of tactical and selection issues, but I’m remaining positive for the season.

Agreed and much like the GF in 2020, when we lost Vlastuin so early, it took us until half time to sort things out. That was the same on Thursday.

We were excellent in the 1st quarter, lost Prestia at the start of the 2nd and lost our way in that quarter. We restructured at half time, and were much better in the 3rd, again we were probably the better team that quarter much like the 1st, and then had our pants pulled down in the 4th in the middle and our indiscipline certainly didn't help us.

Forget the 50s, forget Ross's turnovers, forget Dion's hammy. I've been sitting on this for a week but I can now reveal why we lost from 20 points up in the last quarter, and it's this:

as Carlton kicked the goal to reduce the margin to 14, I declared, "We don't lose from 20 points up in the last quarter".

My bad. Sorry all.
