Rich V Carl - Match Day Thread

This is Carlton’s Grand Final, they absolutely have to win tonite, to give them belief and their new coach an early scalp. For us, it’s just round 1, that’s why I think the blues win tonite. Sorry
I get the theory. ....but... they've had three other 'new' coaches since a R1 victory ..... why change a losing formula now!

Can't wait.

It feels right again this year.

Carlton's hype factor reminds me of us with Cousins in 2009, but on a smaller scale. If we look dominant early, there could be a straw that breaks the camels back moment in which we run away with things like we usually see in our Grand Finals.

Here's hoping!

I'd love to see us get back to the form where we would slowly break a side then run away at the end, good times.

I suspect Voss is going to have the blue baggers play a more physical brand of footy. We will be ready for it, and then give it back to them in spades.

We have no chance of winning according to Brenton Sanderson on SEN:

On Carlton:

"This is a talented team"
"if you look across every line they have so much talent now"
" I'm expecting Carlton to win"
" I can't find a weak link in their 22" o_O
I wonder if Sando is going for a coaching job at Carlton. Remember Malthouse saying he couldn’t see them losing a game at the start of the season he was sacked?

I’m out from the US for the game and at the corner hotel if anyone is looking for a chat and a beer. I’m the one in yellow and black.

Hugo the sub, Tige's down 92 to 16 at half time in VFL vs Blues:eek:

Pathetic, no system whatsover, can't hit targets, Caddy mouthing off at everyone, very poor.

If that happens the Media and all Carlton Fans will Fap themselves into a Coma.

That's the narrative that's been set up for tonight and it's the one all and sundry want to eventuate except the RFC and the Tiger Fans.

Oh what I'd give for a 12 goal belting to just end them before they've started.

The Jam will be rapidly stolen from the Media's Carlton Donut.

Kind of like what they did to us in Hardwick’s first game.

B: D.Grimes - C 2 R.Tarrant 6 N.Balta 21

I believe this is the very best squad we can name as at R1 2022. We do have Vlastuin and K Mac out. Lambert, we all hope, has a successful recovery in time.

Emerging talent named - Rioli at HBF, Balta at Forward/Ruck and Gibcus at tall back. Liam Baker facing a new challenge as forward/mid. If Tarrant can get right he's a very talented backman. (Sensible at North Melbourne but wily now that he's at RFC.) And Ross (IKR?).

A fitness query over Graham. Aarts earning a spot ahead of Stack, Hugo et al. Sonsie not fit yet. Brown very slight.

That's improved available talent over the disastrous (often injured) squads of 2021. But can we get better talent into the squad in 2022? More youth? We want a couple more pressing and then forcing their way in.

Do we line up like this?

B: N.Broad 35 R.Tarrant 6 J.Gibcus 28
