Rhyan Mansell welcome to Tigerland

Obviously the 28 times we handed over the ball in the forward line in the first half last week were not seen as Nigel's fault in the coaches' minds.
How many was he responsible for? Have you a breakdown for all our forwards, mids and rucks who turned the ball over in our forward line?

Started forward offered nothing in the first Was finally played in his true position which was in the backline in the last qtr
What was he thinking could’ve run into open goal but decided to try to dribble it through missed went through for behind

I thought he was OK. Within the context of where we're at, and that every side has to have battlers, as a battler, he's doing OK.

That dribble for goal
Was the nail in the coffin.
I didn't even notice him all day till that moment.
If continues to play we aren't winning many games

He's the new Castagna. Get used to it unfortunately he aint going anywhere. Dimma loves him. At least George hit the scoreboard and caused chaos for the opposition.

Dimma loves the battler who’s not upto AFL standard playing in the forward line
The experiment started with Morro it was a fail then George who was good through the :cupgold:cupgold:cupgoldthen his form dropped off significantly
Enter FAarts a pure VFL footballer nothing more Dimma still persisted with it we sometimes even saw the FAarts George duo that also failed
Experiment has been so successful Not! Dimma in his wisdom finds Mansell who’s no good wants to turn this battler into an AFL footballer
Why is Dimma trying to reinvent the wheel forwards must play in the forward 50 Battlers have no place there They play in the backline or in the vfl

Agree, ziggy switkowski.
From memory he was totally clear, just run in an nail it.
Stock, standard. Nothing flashy. 6 points.
No, can't do that.
Leave it to chance, let this perfectly shaped ball bounce on all points thereby turning it into a game of dice at the casino.

Dimma to quote, err, you, how many goals are we leaving out there every week?
Time to start revoking some licenses.
This is not Richmond Man football.

Yep, terrible miss. Played it like a backman, not a true small forward. Could/should have run in another couple of metres to make it certain. Hate dribble kicks - often dumb because they can be touched or easily bounce off line. A crucial wasted goal from inept decision.

See Charlie Cameron's similar goal from Skunks' defeat. That's how a true SF handles such an opportunity - from a much harder angle. But he has great speed and agility.

I made another post about it the other day, but is that what we have come to? A 3-time premiership club that used a trio of fast, pressure-focused SFs to get ahead of the comp, now reduced to battlers?

We once had a surfeit, now we have battlers. [I rate MRJ but he's a work in progress; but too small for any aerial presence and barely kicks 40m. Tries to do too much with rare possessions, burnt out by solo chases].

I'm willing to give Mansell more chances, but it's typical of Dimma to think he can turn 'a sow's ear into a silk purse'. Just don't think you can turn a scrubby backman into a classy SF. It worked with Castagna only when he was in a trio, but eventually his poor kicking skills told against him.
