Reece Conca - so long and thanks for all the fish

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

Yeah congrats on first career goal. A weight off the shoulders. Is going to be a really good player for us. Was good tonight.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

I'm glad Honks didn't wear the green vest tonight. He was very very good in my opinion. Still learning but I like what I see.

Moves well, needs another gear when he gets.

Smart user. Like Ellis this year, a very safe pick and someone who will play a lot of footballer but will never be in your top 5.
I don't get why he couldn't be inour top 5 players personally. He doesn't look like just a reliable player to me, he looks like he could be a lot more, great skills, vision, in Kingy's ear after he fired up

Think you're underselling him a little Scoop. 21 possies and a goal in his first full game of the season. Rarely wastes it. Lot of room for improvement I reckon. As has been said before too, the great thing about him is the ability and willingness to dispose of the footy then present another option straight away. We don't do this enough.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

He's improving. One day he'll replace some of the guys who aren't up to it in the midfield permanently and the team will be better for it.

That's a bit negative Scoop. IMO the Concanator has every chance to be in our Top 5 BUT that is mainly dependant upon the quality of people we draft. If we progressed with the exact team we have now I recon he would get to be Top 5 material, even if it was Number 5 :)

Not sure on that Scooper.

Think Conca has a lot of scope, could be a first line midfielder.

Think Ellis is a bit limited though due to his pace, or lack of.

Dunno Leysy. I see Conca as a type ten player in a really good side. Not sure he ever becomes elite but he can be very good.

Same with Ellis. In two games every time the ball is Ellis’s hands I feel safe. Same with Conca.

Agree Leysy, you can see Conca wants to make the play, he wants the ball. Will be an important cog in 2 years.

Ellis, jeez he's slow. Better be able to play inside-mid as can see him getting exposed a bit in the backline.

think he might be able to. has quick clean hands.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

As I stated previously and some questioned, will be a vital cog in our midfield this year and average over 20 touches a game. Going to be very good. Never again the sub please.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

We need more players like Conca.

We need to target at least another 3 of Conca's ilk in this years draft.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

I like Reece also.

Agree not a sub player.

Plonk him in the middle and let him go, he is a ball winner, skilled link up as well.

Will become more pronounced with time, a more unobtrusive ball winner than Dustin or Trent but the kid does win lots of footy.

Good composure he has too and as poibnted out he is a play maker.

For all my ranting and venom there are some very good signs for the future.

Trent, Dustin, Reece, Alex, Grimes, Ellis, Elton, Batchelor, Astbury, JR, they have drafted some very good kids , but now have to drill em in AFL work ethics.

Sdaly truth of the list reveals another 10 12 that need to go

Agree about Conca. Ellis looks like he may be a step above him. Really promising.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

Conca played well last night, Ellis looks good, but lacked intensity, Dimma will need to address that fast, don't want a lazy high skilled player.
