Reece Conca - so long and thanks for all the fish

Re: Reece "The Centurion" Conca

We need to bring in fresh blood and we can't if we keep paying fringe players like Conca.

Re: Reece "The Centurion" Conca

Glad he got 100 games and played in a winning final.
Has done it tough with injuries and seems a resilient bloke and good clubman.
He's entitled to be proud of his Tiger career.
It would be a win-win scenario if he was given another chance at Freo and hopefully something like that will eventuate.

Freo interested.

Peter Bell now head of Dockers Football Department. IMO if Ding Dong offers Conca a lifeline with the Dockers Ding Dong he will be doing the Tigers a favour.

Re: Reece Conca

Good bloke Reece, but i think he'd be one to move on to assist our list improvement and free up some $$

They have nothing to offer in a trade and if if GC dont match our offer for Lynch they get pick 3 as compo.

At the moment Freo have pick 5 and 77 but you would hope that Conca would want us to get something half decent out of the trade

If Freo don’t hang onto 5, thru could occupy bottom spot with Carlton for a decade

No trade required, free agent. He can walk. And he should. Take the dollars and years.

Yep, Tigers aren't going to offer 3 years. Pretty good offer for a depth player with injury history.

Re: Reece Conca

Has more chances then any other bloke on the list over the last 10 years.
We should just give freo our first pick for taking him off our list.
Should've been traded 3 years ago

Re: Reece Conca

I suspect Conca would be honorable and not just walk, but possibly insist that Freo trade with Richmond. Hopeful anyway.

Conca's trade value is is pick 77 at best in a trade if he doesn't go via FA. I'd rather not p!ss Freo off for the sake of a 4th rounder.

Nah he is better than that - pick 40 thereabouts

I reckon so, a future 3rd would be nice. Dependent on what type of FA he is. I thought he was unrestricted, but footywire says he's restricted.

The below would suggest he is unrestricted and if he leaves we therefore get nothing.

"Players who are in the top 25 per cent of salaries at their club (that is, in the club’s top nine-10 paid players) are eligible for restricted free agency the first time they are out of contract, if they have served at least eight years with the club."

The value in letting him go is not any draft pick but in the salary cap space it frees up to trade in a genuine midfielder.
Correct. Conca is a major obstacle in getting Crouch.
