Reece Conca - so long and thanks for all the fish

Re: Reece "The Centurion" Conca

Reece was doing ok since returning from injury. Hitting up and working. We were short on hit up mids with our strike mids all injured/unsound. And Conca filled the hole passably in the home and away season.

Had we had a fit and firing roster tonight Conca might still have been starting 22. But our midfield stars were either poor or absent so a lot fell on Conca's shoulders. He didn't measure up. *But he was returning from injury himself.* Reece has never had any luck with injury. Not one season.

We've got ten slower than a fit Reece Conca but he was sluggish tonight. Game but sluggish.

We'll get nothing for him if he walks but we can get a better player for change/defensive mid.

Even tonight he wasn't our worst. Thereabouts in a flogged side.

Re: Reece "The Centurion" Conca

Would any one want him at this stage of his career. Dockers have been touted as possible suitors for his services but Ross is a pretty good judge of footballers.

I'm happy to offload him for nothing. He may be a good bloke but he is definitely not the footballer we require.....
Yep yep and yep.

Don't know about that. He recruited Zac Dawson to Fremantle after he'd already coached him at the Saints :rofl

Re: Reece "The Centurion" Conca

Can you see him as a good player in a successful finals campaign? If the answer is no then why would we keep him.

But then again, he got a lot of (average) games out of Zac. Then picked up Cam McCarthy. But really excelled when he grabbed Harley Bennell.

By comparison, Reece would actually offer some honest value. We lose if he goes for nix.

Re: Reece "The Centurion" Conca

Always been shocking by foot and that cost us big time
Ill drive him to the airport.

Re: Reece "The Centurion" Conca

Like stock trading. Sell while there's peak value and someone (Freo) interested. That is now.

But...

I think with Reece , as hard as he puts in , there was always a but ,

Unfortunately it was all on show Friday night

Re: Reece "The Centurion" Conca

His kicking this year has been tidy.

Many posters are judging him on their memories from previous seasons.

Re: Reece "The Centurion" Conca

A bit like Castagna I’m not fussed if he goes or stays, thing is we are lacking in big bodied inside mids and a fit Conca ( rare as that is) is still best 22-25 imho , I think Graham goes past him next year in midfield time.

Re: Reece "The Centurion" Conca

Guys like markov and Balta have more to offer structure wise and both provide elite pace and can play tall or small. Id see him heading home for a late pick.

Agree mate. Conca is okay but if he leaves I won’t be losing too much sleep. The team needs to evolve especially in the midfield.
