Reece Conca - so long and thanks for all the fish

Certainly deserves his chance to prove himself. Has put together two reasonable games and hopefully he can improve and cement his position. Otherwise imo it's there for the taking as we have some promising youngsters in the wings.

Has been okay this season. But I am like some others in that we wasted this pick on a guy with a very average skill set. Not fast, average endurance, not an accumulator of touches, poor kick... and on it goes. What was it that they saw in Reece that he clearly isn't doing now?

Frawlwy dud your a typical Naysayer ..
Conca has been quite good the past few games due to a FULL pre season .
How about sticking your garbage where the sun dont shine along with all the other pathetic Naysayers..
Just stating the facts. For a first round pick he has NOTHING in his kit bag that tells me we have an Elite or at least Very good player. Everyone is saying he has had 2 good games. I am saying they have been good in regards to his standard output. I just don't think they have been all that good in regards to AFL standard. His kicking is atrocious. His decision making not far behind. When the bar has been set so low, its easy to come out and play some half decent games and look like you have improved. Give me Markov in his position any day of the week. Wasting the development of Markov on a player that will never become Elite or at least a Very Good AFL player.

you, and a few others on here, have trouble telling the difference between facts and opinion.

Sure but doesn't make a good footy player. Usain Bolt could probably get out of tight traffic on a footy field but does that mean he's a good player? No, a good player's hallmark is what he does with the ball, his decision making skills. I watched the game again (3rd time now) and he played an ok game but I counted at least half a dozen times or more where he was just hopeless in the basic situation that presented itself. A very frustrating player to watch for me.

didn't happen. one clanger, one contest where he could have done better.

so far this season, he's been good.

Spot on. Limited player. Does nothing exceptionally well. Kicking is atrocious and decision making not far behind. So he gets out of traffic on ocassion. Doesn't make him a good player. His last few games have been better in regards to Conca's standards but not in regards to AFL standards.

wrong, does one thing very well, and its a biggie, gets out of heavy traffic ;D

There are facts and alternate facts

Re: Reece "Love is in the air" Conca

He needs a chance, but his games haven't been fantastic, just pass, has made some poor decisions.

Miles would replace him. But is Miles better?

Yes it did happen I saw it with my own two eyes, I have watched the game live and full game replay at least twice. At least half a dozen times where a more switched on player would have made a different decision. These don't come up as clangers.

So when has Miles played down back?

Vlastuin or Short go back (both selected on the interchange). Personally I think Conca has done just enough though to keep his spot at this stage.

The fact is Frankie picked Conca pick 6.
The fact is Heppell now captains his AFL club.
No need for opinions as the facts speak for themselves.

yep they are facts. they are also irrelevant to whether Conca is a good footballer, and whether or not he should get a game now.

this post is full of opinion, despite your claim to be stating facts.

Still waiting for someone to explain why it's Conca's fault he was picked before Heppell. Maybe one day.

It's Frankies fault, not Conca's.

The fact is that neither of those things have any influence on what sort of player Conca is. Pick 6 or pick 66 is now irrelevant and makes no difference to his output this week or the last 2 weeks

judge him now on his performance not where he was picked

Re: Reece "Love is in the air" Conca

Not the brightest star down back so maybe try & clone him to be a Eddie Betts.

Re: Reece "Love is in the air" Conca

At least 6 players away from our worst problem.
