I cant wait for this kid to get 30-40 games under his belt and another pre season or two! Then we'll get to ee what he really has to offer!

Have you even been tracking Concas game??

He isn't being used as an attacking defender, he is being used as a shut down player on the small forwards, I suggest you have a listen to what Roos/Hardwick said On The Couch the other night to understand why he is being used in the backline.

Sorry to disappoint you Crumpet but for Dimma its not all about winning atm. No short cuts. Here to win the war not a battle.

why do out better players always get used as shut down players?
Lids, conca and connors should all be attacking options

defensively minded people may as well follow stkilda. thats why they dont win flags.

and all I am saying that's it more important to RFC to get Conca well rounded and ready for the big time as quick as possible.

If all you want to do is win every game at all costs in only our 2nd year of a complete rebuild, we can see if Wallet is still available.

"There will be some games that we possibly could win if we tinkered with stuff, but once again it is a long-term focus we are aiming at, not the short term."

Agree 100%. He also didn't have a full pre season as I recall so his tank is probably not there . Midfielders also have to learn to defend . This stint in the backline is just part of his development .
I couldn't care less what Gaff and Swallow are doing . Maybe we are right and they are wrong ?

Still not convinced by this pick. Will get better with time but nothing jumps out that he will be anything special.

Even though he has been beaten in two out of three games, he has impressed me so much with his balance, poise and skill. The bit of play when he got backed into a bad position, then went past his opponent and spotted up a target was great.

The kid is three games in and is playing in a foreign position. I can only see long term player for us with him. Silk. I do want him to get a run in the midfield now.

He showed good poise last night a couple of times, doesn't panic and seems like he has enormous amount of time to decide and deliver, even when under pressure - that is a good sign of a potential class player.

Its alright to teach the kid a defensive side..but gee wiz you will kill all his confidence at this level in the process. Put him on an oposition midfielder if you want him to learn defence. Having him get isolated in the pocket on guys the quality of Milne will bury his career before its started.

There were worse last night that have played many more games than Reece.

Will be a class player.

Agree. Heppel was the closest thing to a lock for me after the GC plundering. Still, don't think it'll reach Fiora/Pav or Bling/Buddy levels of regret and he should be given an extended run in the seniors, in a year where we can afford to.
