Reece Conca - so long and thanks for all the fish

Didn't notice it myself but ABC radio (Stan Alves?) was pretty scathing of him after the game. Mentioned things like attempts to kick mid-air and one handed efforts.

A bit harsh. He makes a few mistakes but he's also very creative. And he's only 20yo playing his 38th game of footy.

I wasn't really concentrating Lisa. Does the mirth mean it wasn't Stan who said it or that Stan isn't much chop?

Average game.
Guilty of star gazing and not concentrating, lacking intensity, and impact.
A patchy performer for mine and consistency is his biggest hurdle at the moment.
Lacks self belief? Not something you can accuse Heppel of.
Still looks to be a classic Francis Jackson pick; a speculative number 6 that is yet to justify that rating.

I would suggest the latter.

Ok. I wouldn't have a clue about the Conca criticism but I usually enjoy Stan's analysis.

Funny this issue should be mentioned on here.

I am a big fan of all ABC radio's commentators in both Victoria and WA. The SA mob aren't much chop, but thankfully I don't have to listen to them too often.

I didn't hear today's game on the radio, but I reckon Stan has become a bit agro in recent times. Or maybe just cynical. It struck me that he doesn't seem to get on with the rest of the guys like he used to.

The ABC guys are generally pretty good. Except for Mark McLure. He's an idiot.

Funnily enough I don't mind him, although I can see his brand of commentary will probably run its race quicker than most.

Not much chop

3 votes?? Really??

Sidebottom torched Reece when opposed. Heavily involved in Collingwoods 3rd qtr burst.

Needs to tighten up & be unconditional in his attack at the ball.

Besides Steele's purple patch, I reckon they were 'on par' throughout the game. Getting better is Reece.

Spite is not courage. And hotdogging is not work. A challenge for Chocco in this very talented youngster.

Had a shocker.

The Freo game will show where he's going. This should be his break out year.

If we belong in the top Bunch then we should beat Freo like Hawthorn and Essendon did

Absolutely.

But here's the problem. Freo is a big strong side. So are we (when we're not playing petal). They're bigger and stronger than us, or at least they have been. That's why they monstered us at Docklands last year. (They bet 7/2 Freo. Kill me. ;D) We should be quicker and better suited over there on the big park.

FWIW, DDT, I think the top four is set - Geelong, Sydney, Hawthorn and Collingwood. West Coast is a myth and Freo can play. (See the derby.) We can beat Freo in Perth if we play furreal.

I'm unsure about Esserden. The wildcard, for mine. I'll look at their form from round six on. Currently their form is much better than ours.

When assessing Richmond I urge all form students to make these allowances - The Tiges have limited experience as a group, the topliners are underdone and the 21 is nowhere near settled. This team will evolve.

Yep, he made some horrible choices that were unacceptable. They will have a field day with him on the video review. He comes across as a smart kid who will learn from it so as long as they take him through those things the right way it could help make him a better player.
