Reece Conca - so long and thanks for all the fish

Shows glimpses - that goal was top notch.
Flew with the big guys, landed on his feet and great snap.
Just needs to get the fitness into him after missing a lot of the preseason and he will be a solid accumulator.

I walked away from the game convinced that Dustin Martin had kicked two goals. My live view from the nosebleeds was that Conca flew high but fruitlessly, Vickery split the pack and knocked both him and Robinson to the ground, Dusty pounced and kicked a great snap over his shoulder.

The replay revealed the truth. Conca flew higher than I thought was possible for a man in a Hobbit's body, Vickery split the pack with courage, Robinson was dreaming of big-breasted, bottle-blonde bogan women before he hit the ground and Conca landed on his feet like a cat, gathered the loose ball deftly and kicked the best goal of the night.

Wonderful effort.

BTW, I was pretty confident that Robinson would fail his 20 minute IQ test. He just has that look about him.

Top game. Backs himself and not scared at all. Resolute

The next stage in his development is that he needs to kick regular goals. Then he can take a place in the midfield-through-the-forward-line rotations.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

Conca went in hard for the ball and wasn't afraid of a contest. Wasn't an easy game for winning the ball. Good game by Conca.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

good first half, ran out of gas in the second. goes in very hard, just needs to tidy up his disposal.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

Thought he was awful, apart from nice goal. Disposal is just ordinary. He does try but I just don't think he has the skills. I keep comparing him with heppell and there is just no comparison - think we got that draft pick wrong.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

He just quietly keeps going about his business and slowly improving week to week. Just needs to clean up the disposal a bit and he'll be fine. Good player.

Awful... Now that is laughable. The kid is hard and tough - Heppell is not.
His skills may not have been great last night, but its round 1, so the pressure is like a final. So skills may be down, just like Cotch's 40% efficiency.

The kid will be a very very solid player.

I'm not having the argument about 'hard and tough' v 'skill and class' - it's all been said before.

>His skills may not have been great last night,

I agree with you on that point.

Hope so, cos I'm not sure how many hard and tough (with poor skills) players we can carry as a team - we have plenty of them already

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

There is some medication available as well called Drafthindsightoxyl. Treats the symptoms pretty quickly. Not so effective on extreme cases like Tambling/ Buddy though.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

Going along very nicely. Yet to complete one proper pre-season.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

Have no doubt the Concareter will be a long term quality player for us. We've already got two in Bachar n Towball that play similar type footy to Seagull. Easy to have too many of the polished creative outside types if you don't have enough of the in and under contested mongs.

You got no idea, awful, my fat aunt...he was full on :clap

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

loves getting his hands dirty, can't ask much more from a young player.

his skills are off at the moment because he is helter skelter.

he'll settle in time. love the concs.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

Underrated is Conca. Due to injury he has yet to complete a full pre-season and when he does look out. The kid will be a beauty.

100%, he needs a tank and more strength and then the upside will be massive.
2 x pre seasons and we have a star.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

He did fade hard in the last quarter, if it wasn't for that it was a good game
