He didn't. :)
So *smile* comes out as *smile*? Hardly seems worthwhile having it filtered but so be it.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

Is it just me or something else because everytime I switch between games on the tele Dyson Heppell is involved in the play ?

Anyone know how Reece went on the weekend ?

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

Some one answer this question, WHY WAS HE DROPPED?

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

Team balance.

Isn't that the universal excuse used at all footy clubs?

We got the balance wrong on Saturday. By a long way. Has to be a walk up this week.

On the face of it was by far the strangest selection decision of the Hardwick era

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

I would put forward the idea they are managing him through the season.

Like we did with Jack last year and like we are doing with Vickery this year.

Has to be a off field thing.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

If it's an off-field issue why would Reece be taken to Adelaide as emergency rather than play for Coburg. That doesn't give much of a message. Couldn't it be more a case of match-ups and wanting to use specific players?

Selection thursday night will dispel all myths and theories.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

I reckon that the Selection committee wanted to test Adelaide from a height perspective in their defence so bought in Elton and then had to leave a small out (one of Conca, Nahas, Edwards and King). Unfortunately the conditions were not conducive to marking. North had beaten Adelaide the week before with this sort of formula but that was inside in the comfort of Etihaad.

He should be straight back in this week with King out.

If it was match ups then the club couldn't have got it more wrong and the way the game played out showed that. We got ran all over in the last two quarters, too few doing too much. Needed another three mids to roll through.

Maybe but they didn't know how it was going to pan out or that it would be left for too few. Who knows whether Reece would have been in the too many or the too few category if he played anyway. He's not the equivalent of 3 more mids rolling through even if he's having a good day. I found it a strange decision too but I don't think it's right to speculate about off-field issues considering he travelled over with the team anyway. You might know more about the situation than I do though.

Re: Reece "Squirrel" Conca

Perhaps the match committee simply got it wrong. A rare case where hindsight equals foresight.

Naw, that never happens. And fore sight counts for nothing, it's all negative.
