Lots of positives, a few negatives, good wins, bad losses, more good wins than bad losses.

Overall better than I expected, 7/10.

Said before the season started would be happy with 8 - 10 wins so it is a pass for me. Gave them a 7.

7/10
The off-field stuff is almost first class. :clap
The on-field performance has been good at times and dismal at others, however it is a vast improvement over 2009 & 2010.
I am optimistic that 2012 will see us fall into the eight.

A pass. My target was 8-9 wins. Wasn't expecting it to be bang in the middle. An improvement on last year without a bubble effect.

Pluses:
Vickery
Rance
Nahas
Conca
Batchelor
Grimes
Some success with the forward press of late
Less reliance on Jack to kick goals
Cotchin
Martin
King
signs that Matt Dea might turn out ok.
Houli - great kick
Deledio good again

Negatives:
Graham
Jackson
Hislop
Not winning all the games we could have after being in winning positions
Farmer
Troy Taylor

Miller decision was ok without being startling
Was looking for more signs of Griffiths potential - but not writing him off
Helbig showed promise
Jury out on Derricx due to injury

Roll on 2012..................

6/10.

Won more games than I thought we would, but we ended with a % in the mid 80s and the third worst defence in the league, averaging almost 109 points against a game. While the backline cops a lot of flack, our midfielders are still very one way and we need to get better defensively.

Its stats like this that show to me we are still a few years away.

I gave them a 7. Expected improvement and that's what they delivered. Will expect more improvement next year.

I gave them a 5 as nothing can wipe the Port and Gold Coast losses from my memory.

I am also not enthused about matchday coaching we are too slow to react case in point 3rd qtr yesterday.

I voted 6/10

those losses to Port and GC were the lowlight of the season.
The triple header capital city wins (Sydney,Melbourne, Adelaide) were great and really got my hopes up. Yesterday left a bad taste in my mouth.

As above

we can now start building a team (and a list) around these guys

xxxxxx Rance Grimes
Houli Astbury Batchelor
Dea Martin Deledio
Helbig Griffiths xxxxxxx
Nahas Riewoldt Vickery
On ball: xxxx Cotchin Foley
i/c Post Grigg Conca xxxxx

We finished around where I was expecting. We won a couple of games I didn't expect us to, but we lost a couple of games that we really should have won. Still a pass, 5 for me.

The first year in a long time that makes me think we've got something to look forward to in the coming years. A young list with a number of A graders and potential A graders. Some crucial decisions to make in terms of the list, the most important off season I can remeber.
What to do with the ruck situation? Do we trade for a McIntosh (please no), go for a younger unproven ruck or stick with the status quo and wait until our "window" opens?
What to do with guys like McGuane/Jackson/Thursfield/White/Tuck? How many experienced players can we delist without rocking the boat?

The best thing is our core of Reiwoldt/Cotchin/Deledio/Martin/Vickery is all class and guys like Rance/Grimes/Foley/Houli/Batchelor/Conca looking capable of being solid citizens. Grigg another that could join this group. Edwards is a bit of an enigma, at his best he is a talented creative mid but his disposal is a real issue

If Griffiths/Post/Astbury can come on and take up the other key posts we are in a pretty strong position.

Of the over 27's only Newman & King appear capable of making a positive contribution in the next couple of years.

The best thing about this year is that the negatives are glaringly obvious and we managed to win 8.5 games despite them. The individual improvement of many other players to potential premiership players has been great.

We just need to find a better bottom 5 or 6 players and refine our game plan a bit (to avoid conceding easy goals on the overlap) and I can see up being a very good team.

A little underwhelmed to be honest, really wasn't expecting much of an improvement as far as Win/Losses went, just wanted to see an improvement from a team chemistry POV..................at times it looked promising, but as per the case for most of last 30 years, a letdown was waiting in the bushes about to pounce.

A couple of players really improved, namely Vickery, Rance and Nahas, Cotch was outstanding, Dusty was great at times, ordinary at others, but that was to be expected.

But overall many again didnt live up the billing, which wasn't a shock other than the frequency of games they were still gifted.

Thought all 3 draft picks in Conca, Batch and Hellbig showed enough to suggest many more games next year for the 3 of them, but until we really weed out the driftwood, the rollercoaster ride will probably continue for a few more years yet I hate to say.

The losses to the likes of Port and CG really put a dampener on the season for many and those were inexcusable at the time.

I'd have to say it was nothing better than average now thats it over and post a 5/10

A great summary - also gacve a 7

4/10 Didn't win enough games with a couple of embarassing losses. Inability to halt team runs on match day.

Farmer is an embarassment, Miller playing is/was pointless. Jackson got worse as the year progressed.

i gave a 6..it was almost a 9, but those shocking loses to melbourne, bulldoags ,gold coast and port where terrible

i thought jackson and edwards graham and browne had awful years to

hard to judge the backline with moore ,connors, grimes, batchelor our for a large portion of the year
rance was a massive positive..loved what we saw of batchelor and grimes to...and the last few weeks saw DEA and POST play some good footy..so i think a real positive is we might have the makings of a very solid backline

vickery..big year..fantastic
king and nahas..fantastic to
conca and houli..just fabulous..awesome gets
cotch martin lids solid all year
a massive positive is we have many goal kickers now and will never rely on jack to kick a winning score
so over all a year of massive improvement...bring on next year asap

You thought Browne, a 20 year old who turned 21 halfway through the year had a terrible year? He had a few very good games for Coburg and managed to average 20 hitouts a game over 7 games in the seniors. For his age I'd say that's a good result for a kid who's 205cm.

Pretty much on the money with our win/loss ratio, percentage improved markedly and there has been terrific improvement from some of last years underachievers. Over the trading period I would love to see another Tambling swindle, perhaps involving Jackson, Edwards or Morton. If we don't manage to snaffle a promising ruckman then Maric may have to do, provided we don't trade the kitchen sink. The ruck has definitely been our achilles heal this year and has to be our number one priority over the coming months.
