PRE Phantom Draft 2012

Ok boys, girls and plants. I just wanna say one thing before we start and that is don't expect me to pick like every other phantom draft or Steven Silvagni for that matter. He's a complete moron anyway. All my picks will win 2 Brownlows each and make Dustin Martin's off season shenanigans look like an episode of Neighbours...old Neighbours anyway I haven't seen that show for yonks.

Here goes. Aw stuff it I'm buggered I'm going to bed. Nah just kidding.

No. 1 : Lachlan Whitfield (184cm, mid, Dandenong Stingrays)

Well, what a shock! I couldn't believe it myself when I chose him it at No.1. Seriously I'll get more interesting after this.
Apparently, he runs and runs and runs all over the place like some kind of jack rabbit on crack. Energizer jack rabbit. Apparently has a laser left foot. He is a bit skinny. So was Robbie Flower I guess. Anyway if he turns out no good or wants to go back to hanging out with Somalian gangs at Dandy station we'll trade him for 2 first rounders and $6 million in a couple of years.

Ok next. Mmmm what to do what to do. We'd like a time extension please Vlad. What's that? The top 10 was done this morning and they're all standing off stage? Oh. Well I didn't know ok.

No.2 : Jake Stringer (191cm, mid, FF, FB, BW, OB, Bendigo Pioneers)

Woo hoo! We got him! Weee got him baby!! Yeesssss! Hi five Kev! Hi five Gubby! Gonna be a beauty this one. Fearless, all the skills, footy genius, never misses a shot, plays all over the park, we are just rapt to have him and couldn't believe he was still there at pick 2. I personally prodded his left leg with icy pole sticks for over 10 minutes and he never flinched once. Anybody mentions Nathan Brown again and Patton will stuff felafels into every orifice he can find.

No.3 : Troy Menzel (186cm, mid , HF , Central Districts)

It's all over. You can all forget about the 2016,17,18,19 and 20 flags because Troy is going to form part of the most awesome forward line ever assembled. Seriously if he's as good as his brother we are laughing and we think he's better. Got a deep deep trick bag to go with the purest footy nous in the draft. We are also working on a DNA transplant to be ready sometime in the pre-season. Can't take any chances now can you.

Over to the rest of you sad pathetic clubs that mostly have only one first round pick.

What's that Tippet nominated!? NOOOOOO!!! I can't be stuffed editing my post! NOOOOOOooooooooo......

Melbourne rush in before the commission and pick Grundy @ 4 because he's highly rated on the BF phantom drafts and that has served us well over te last 4 years.

dud, delist.

Pick 7 - Sam Mayes. (SA – Fwd/Mid)
Height: 187cm, Weight: 78kg, DOB: 20/05/1994
Recruited from: North Adelaide

Mayes best asset is his kicking ability and some would say its the best in this years draft. He hits his targets and around goal is deadly accurate. He plays predominantley as a lead up forward and with his pace can really add distance between himself and his defender. Is a very good marker of the ball for someone of his size. Mayes can run through the midfield but the only knock on him is his ball winning ability which needs some work.

Interested to see which way Brissy go. If they go KPP I have 2 quality mids I like here. If they go mid then it will save me having to actually make a decision which I'm finding hard. :hihi

We at the Fremantle FC Are locked and ready with their list of players

Sorry for the delay guys. I've been busy studying YouTube vids, Miller style!

Anyway, at Brisbane we have determined that we need KPP forwards and defenders as well as classy, speedy outside mids to complement the likes of Rich, Adcock, Rockliff, Redden etc.

Looking at the board we dont rate any of the available KPPs as top 10 picks.

We had earmarked Garlett at this pick for his pace and skill.

But, we can't overlook Wines at this pick. He may not fit into the mould of what we are chasing but we have to take best available.

Wines is an all round mid. Great endurance, freak skills off both sides, great vision and hard at it.

Lions therefore use pick 8 on Oliver Wines.

If John Coleman and Paul Salmon had a baby it couldn't be as hyped as Joe Daniher. The Bummers take him under the father-son-and-holy-spirit rule.

He is the Second Coming.

You have been warned.

Well if Kurt Tippett is still available then he will definitely answer our key forward solution assuming he he's happy to join mick and co at visy park. Otherwise josh Simpson's run will help out a lack of drive and x factor from midfield

Josh Simpson
Height: 183cm
Weight: 72kg
From: East Fremantle

Quick and silky skilled winger/half forward who is deceptively good overhead. Has a lot of Lewis Jetta/Daniel Wells about him. Is the type that doesn't have to get a lot of the ball due to the dash and damage by foot when he does have it. Had an interrupted 2012 moving from SA to WA and will now join fellow Indigenous Blues: Betts, Yarran, Garlett and Walker
