PRE Phantom Draft 2007.

Re: PRE Phatnom Draft 2007.

Very disappointed that Mary Kay's sister, Helen, is gone. Would have been a natural for us.

Won't be around for the Geelong selection.

In order the Cats will have Ryan Normington or Andrew Otten. If they're gone- Mulligan.

Yeah sorry, probably was a bit over the top on the response there but my point is that West Coast have 5 picks in the top 30 and I used 3 on mids. You don't agree with who I have chosen but you probably won't agree with who clubs pick in the real draft anyway. The order is always different to what people think, especially in a shallow draft like this. I have seen quite a bit of Greenwood and he has played heaps of league footy for Port Magpies, is physically very mature, is really hard at it, plays taller than he is, and racks up plenty of possessions. He's just the type that successful clubs like West Coast pick and not a skinny flanker, if you know what I mean.
i like greenwood foxy loxy but theres another big bodied sa kid i would have taken in front of him.

I assume you mean Tom McNamara, Claw. I would still definitely prefer Greenwood over him. I have watched Greenwood reasonably closely for Port Magpies this year and I reckon he looks pretty good. What attracts you so much to McNamara?

Re: PRE Phatnom Draft 2007.

Strange that Sydney were able to trade away their 3rd round pick.I thought they indicated they would use that pick on Craig Bird their NSW project player(which is a bargain there btw)

Maybe they can use their 4th round pick.

Re: PRE Phatnom Draft 2007.

What you think Bevo? Still some depth around but it is not as strong as past years. Still some talent in there for those who know where to look.

Re: PRE Phatnom Draft 2007.

Still plenty left.

Academic to us though. :(

Re: PRE Phatnom Draft 2007.

Ironically it seems this draft while maybe being shallow overall is actually fairly well stocked for taller kids and ball winners.

Re: PRE Phatnom Draft 2007.

You're right duckman.Theres some really promising specualtive talls that will start kicking in around these picks.

whats with the attitude?

i just dont think after last years draft where the eagles went tall and also with the arrival of kennedy that the eagles will be going for tall forwards with their early picks this year

their on ball division has been severly hurt with the loss of judd and cousins and the eagles recruiting department will be on a mission to rectify it the best they can

vez and greenwood are handy but id prefer mcginnty and a few others anyday

Carlton - Taylor Walker

If you are referring to the U18 NSW CHF, from Broken Hill, I'm pretty certain that he has already been well signed by Collingwood as their NSW scholarship boy, so the reality is that he probably isn't available to other clubs in this draft.

I could be wrong.

Re: PRE Phatnom Draft 2007.

He's Adelaide's scholarship player and they've committed to taking him with their last pick in the national draft.

Re: PRE Phatnom Draft 2007.

a question for all. is there ever truly a shallow draft. this draft will prove there isnt.

Re: PRE Phatnom Draft 2007.

Can i leave my pick with someone for tomorrow if it doesnt get to my pick tonight ?
Ive got pick 40.
