Picks 32, 34 & 43

Assuming we take Macrae at 9, I'd be stoked with Lonergan at 32, Pongracic at 34 and White at 43

Not sure if we'd want or need both Lonergan and Pongracic if we take Vlastuin at 9

Assuming the club maintain their faith in Astbury, I don't concur with the scribes having us target Thurlow

If we must take Toy and a ruckman - which we surely wouldn't do the latter of if Grundy slides to 9 and we take him - let it be in one of the other draft periods

Thurlow is a big chance at 32, I did a bit of a write up in the mock draft but for those who are unaware, he's probably the best division 2 player behind Lonergan - a lovely kick and particularly smart when it comes to defending or zoning off.

One of my co-presenters at Bound for Glory wrote up this pretty detailed phantom draft. Hope you guys enjoy. (See if you can guess what team the writer supports)

Bulldogs I reckon.

Pretty happy with our lot .......IF Stringers leg comes good. Its the equal biggest IF in the draft along with menzels Knee.

These are the picks that make or break I reckon. Weve been hitting the bullseye with round 1 for a while now, but apart from batchelor, hellbig and Astbury, miss the board altogether after pick 25. In the meantime, the good sides have been getting blokes like hannebury, sam reid, dayne beams, alex fasolo and TAYLOR WALKER (75!) after pick 30 (admittedly, these are outliers). The draft stats show its really hit and miss (mostly miss) after 25, but we really need another batchelor/hellbig/Grimes year. C'mon FJ, these 3 picks are the difference between finalists or a dynasty I reckon.

Taking Thurlow or similar would indicate to me the club doesn't believe Astbury is going to make it

I would think we would go for a ruckman with one of these picks and maybe a KP as well.
So far we have punted Graham, Browne, Miller, Moore and Post.
With only Chaplin in as a KP, we need some more tall options.

Mmm - makes sense.

Taylor Walker was a NSW Scholarship pick, you can't use him as evidence for the point you are making.

Are you sure? I dont really get the scholarship scheme, but youve still gotta draft 'em dont you, meaning they are available to other clubs?

They are locked in picks. Pretty sure no one else can't touch them.

Different types, Thurlow is more your rebounding back flanker, if he fills a key defensive post it will be more like a Joel Bowden role.

Will keep Thurlow in mind for Supercoach 2013 then.

You could do alot worse that getting a JB MKII.

32 Tom Clurrey (dreamin', but blokes always slide)
34 Jack Thurlow
43 SPENCER WHITE

assuming Grundy's gone and we get a hot mid at 9. If we get The big BG, we can go sub 190 with these picks and they might look a bit more like

32 Taylor garner (youve gotta dream)
34 Jack Thurlow
43 SPENCER WHITE

3 more sleeps

Thurlow seems to kick some goals as well. Pretty good overhead.

Yer you can throw him anywhere. Another kid who has done it against men. But it's a crap league.
