Pick 53: Jack Graham

He's moving as well as I've seen from him over the last month. Great signs.

Reckon he is an intelligent footballer as he's not quick but still manages to evade in traffic and dispose neatly.

Getting over the injury has certainly made a big difference. Confidence in his body is important in his role. Showing what he is capable of.

Definitely a keeper, but also one to keep an eye on if injured, give him time to heal as he can't play that role with a niggle.

All this and only 22, hoping for a long and fruitful career at Punt Rd.

DS

May not be quick, but he can hit packs without breaking stride. Not many do this.

Mark Stevens said Carlton have offered Graham a 4 year deal to leave Richmond o_O

I like Graham but 4 years is madness.
4 years for a 22yo mid?
Peak years.
Its the time for a long term contract imo.
He has Already shown consistency of effort and application. You know what you are getting.
I,d have no probs with 4 years

I’d be surprised if we offered 4 years. 3 years max imo. We rarely offer anyone more than 2 years.

Do we have any concerns over Graham leaving? I like him and really hope he stays. He finally looks like he’s over the shoulder issues and playing great team footy.

I could almost understand if he wanted to head home to Adelaide but I would fair dinkum:vomitif he went to Carlton or Essendon

Surely not Jack?

I'd give him more if he wants it. Like others have said he's critical for our future, simply must stay.

We're tight and a lot of players to renew. Crows are in rebuild mode. Jack would be the sort of South Australian experienced young premiership player who could Capt for them.

Jack is Richmond and we'd want him to stay, but if Adelaide dangled Pick 1, 2 or 6 for him, what would we do?

Graham is exactly the type of player Carlton, Essendon and Adelaide need. Solid B-grade player with leadership potential and plenty of good football ahead of him. I hope he stays at Richmond but with the rumored 4 year deals floating around that means any trade is going to start at a first round pick and only go up from there. Either way, can’t see us losing.

I can see the Crows trying to tempt us with Graham and CCJ in a package deal for a high draft pick but Pick 1 is too high so they would need to trade down. A top 10 pick would be tempting if we could get Hollands or someone like that.

And neither Carlton or Essendon will part with high first rounders
