Pick 33 Discussion

Absolutely magnificent kick and decision maker.

Can find the ball.

First in the agility test and high up in kicking at the combine.

Went about 83% efficiency in the championships.

He IS EXACTLY what we need coming out of the back 50 or on a wing.

Added to Garlett or Cockatoo at 12 and Shane Yarran at 70 odd we'd have X factor covered.

Will never happen though with Dimma's fear of flair.

Whether it's related to his poor endurance I don't know, but he's certainly not an elite kick and I wouldn't want him anywhere near our back half. As a creative/defensive forward I really like him. But there'd be a hell of a lot of work to do.

He was suffering from a back injury at the combine, I'm still expecting him to go around the pick 40 mark.

Smith had a DE of 61%, he also had a very high clanger count. His performance last year was much better.

No way McKenzie is still on the board in the 50s. Will be a top 30 pick, probably top 25.

We need to get one of the two-dads with our 2nd pick

Neal-Bullen will be selected by St Kilda at 22, they have been into him for 2 months now and he would appear to be a perfect fit given their midfield needs some bolstering.

DVR is more a 3rd round selection and I think we need to prioritise midfielders at 33, it's really looking like Gore will be our best bet and I would be pleased with that outcome. If Miller were to drop he would also have to come under serious consideration.

We are on the same page, baa-rother. I reckon Clem could fill Jakey's boots in the forward line too.

Any one of these at 33 will be a good result IMO & I think that Gore will be around @ 33 but will be snapped up by the Crows with their next pick after that if still o the board.

I am leaning towards gore at #33 also

Cockatoo
Gore
Rose
Boekhurst
Anderson

I would be shouting drinks if we get this result

Would love Clem Smith, but as a small defensive forward.

As a hackman his kicking is a liability.

Also rate Dan Howe, saw him play for our VFL team and was very good at that level in the game or 2 that I saw, certainly better than drummond was

Realistically we should get a shot at Gore, Cavka or Webb, I could live with any of those guys.

At 52 I think it will be out of Lonie, Rose or Boekhorst.

At 70 Caleb Daniel becomes great value, maybe even Bampton if we are prepared to nurse him through his recovery.

Bampton @ 70 could be a real steal.

Absolutely, my feeling is Port will take him if available, but they might have to make the choice between Daniel or Bampton, leaving us with a value selection. Bampton won't play much football next year but very few players from pick 60 onwards will be seeing much action anyway. Provided the shoulder is healing we should have him firmly in our sights for our 4th rounder.

no issue nursing Bampton with his recovery, we are Drafting for 5-10 years & he'll be fine in the future :)

Is there any chance the hyphen or Blakely will be available at our second pick? One of those 2 would be a dream.

Will not be on the board at 70. No way in hell. I'll take bets.

I put him in the 40-80 range. There's a few issues at play here, the first being his shoulder and the fact he is a very physical player, this will make some recruiters very nervous. He won't be playing much football next year and being a SA lad, many Victorian clubs will be put off. Port have pick 57, this seems likely, but they may go for Rose, Ramsey or even Daniel. Adelaide have enough big bodied mids, the last thing they need is another. Guys like Crouch & Grigg are waiting in line and Riley Knight is also knocking on the door.

If he goes early it will be to a strong club like Hawthorn who can afford an injured draftee, but I couldn't see too many others willing to take the risk.

No, I don't think so.
