Pick 12 discussion.

Emma Quayle has us taking Lennon, she's normally spot on. Although I must admit this year she hasn't quite dug as deep as she normally does, she seems to spend more time on the psychological stuff these days.

As an Essendon supporter I am not surprised - their heads must be spinning!

I don't think we are going to end up with Lennon or Salem now. I think it's going to be Jones/Freeman.

WB Pick 4: Bontempelli
GC Pick 5: KK
COL Pick 6: Sharenberg
BL Pick 7: Aish
NM Pick 8: McDonald
MEL Pick 9: Salem
COL Pick 10: Lennon
WCE Pick 11: Sheed
RICH Pick 12: Jones/Freeman

That is how I think it will play out. It's annoying because I really want Lennon, so hopefully it plays out differently.

Yeah looks like it all comes down to who Melb take.

If Freeman = Lennon to us

If Salem = Jones

Just hope we pick Jones over Freeman.

I can't understand why we wouldn't be considering Acres above Freeman/Jones though. He's everything Lennon is but with added speed and agility, plus some demonstrated inside capability. Only thing I can think of is we're concerned about his injuries or go home factor.

I'll put my nuts on the line and say Acres will be in the top 3 players from this pool

Yep. It's also somewhat down to what Brissy do if they take Aish or reach for another player. Which they might, because of the last South Australian outside mid they took with a top 10 pick.

Great work gentlemen. This will be a great thread to revisit.

I don’t know enough to do a full over/under list. But I will go against the grain and say that in the long run I like Freeman to be a good AFL professional.

We need either bris to take McCarthy or melb/ coll to take freeman. If one of these 3 happen we should have Lennon or poss Salem avail for our pick.
Just need one of these to occur please!

Spot on. Both would be nice. Unless Melb have changed their mind in last 2 days they'll take Salem.

Would have been Lennon but looks like it's going to be Jones.

All comes down to Collingwood getting that stupid concessional pick for losing Thomas. AFL is just a disgrace for disadvantaging clubs like this. Why should we lose a player we were into because of FA compensation? It just makes no sense at all.

On the flipside if Lids had left last year and we got nothing how would we feel?

We need to pick up Lewis Taylor, the age says "zippy, zig zagging midfielder'
The club needs a zip ;D

Well, for one thing, the Lid would well and truly have been off.

Obviously would not have been fantastic. HOWEVER at least it's a result that would be consistent over all clubs and free agents. The system as it is doesn't work. How does Daisy Thomas, who has hardly played for 2 years get you a pick 11 when Buddy gets pick 19?

We lost Matt White for nothing but Port got a 2nd rounder for Danyle Pearce. None of it makes any sense and all it does is disadvantage clubs through compromising the draft yet again.
