Pick 12 discussion.

Will support whoever the club chooses but if these mids are all about the same, why are we considering Ellis given he's had a stress fracture in his foot?

There will be a meltdown if we don't pick Ellis at 12.

thats the worry for mine, sounds like the Trengove issue all over again but this time we have to deal with it.
mind you, it is written by C.Twomey who as been the main Ellis/Tigers advocate of all.
most say Ellis is an option if our preferred players are gone, Twomey has been linking Ellis as the 1st choice. time will tell how right he is....

Going off what Twomey thinks there might even be a good chance we end up with Duggan afterall. WC would have to strongly consider Laverde

Twomey has been the architect of the Ellis rumours so he has to follow through with the obsession. No way he goes at 12, I would bet my house on it.

We'd surely take Laverde if there, surely. He or Weller are just such better fits for us right now.

Hope Twomey isn't right: Ellis, mcLean & Drummond (a renowned butcher of the ball) would be about as disappointing as it could get from a strong draft.
Hoping for Laverde, Gore and Loney with a couple more mids from the later picks.

Would be amazed if FJ passed on that much talent if Twomey is correct on who's stil on the boards at 12. Maybe FJ could overlook 1 player but surely not all of Laverde, Lever and Weller. Just can't see it happening. Do think if Duggan is there we will select him.

This Ellis, is the Frank pick of all Frank picks.

It's guuna happen. Weller to play the Heppell role.

Purely on YouTube highlights, it has to be Laverde.
Wright, Laverde,Ahern,Weller,Duggan is the order for me ................................. But world loveeeeeeeeeeeee Cockatoo

For the record, I think this whole "FJ always picks the battler over the obvious talent" train is nothing but plain factually incorrect unjustified internet group-think criticism.

It's happened once in 8 years - Conca over Heppell.

7 out of 8 times he's drafted a player rated by everyone around that pick. Only 1 reach in 8 years.

Jack Riewoldt - around Picks 8-13, not a reach
Trent Cotchin - obvious Pick 2, but would've taken him at Pick 1, not a reach
Ty Vickery - linked to Pick 4, Port Adelaide, not a reach
Dustin Martin - obvious Pick 3 with Sydney offering 6 + 12, not a reach
*Conca over Heppell*
Brandon Ellis at Pick 15, on the mark, not a reach
Nick Vlastuin generally rated around the top 10 mark, not a reach
Ben Lennon, generally rated around the Top 10 mark and somewhat lucky he slipped to 12. Not a reach.

The amount of eye-rolling over this perception of FJ's infamous ability to overlook the obvious is unjustified. We're in good hands.

This draft is pure madness.

Garlett to Richmond is mail from another club.

Weller to Geelong.
Wow!! Would be equivalent of Hawthorn selecting Cyril in 07.

Who said FJ didn't have balls?

I'm with you turk, I'd happily see Cockatoo join Richmond. He's got outside pace and inside ability - we'd be killing two birds with one stone ;)

Just for the fun of it, I'd want them: Laverde (based on reputation only), Duggan (really like his body mechanics on-field and personality off it, has mannerisms like Cotch on and off-field)... Cockatoo (inside mid with explosive pace, effective in contests), Weller (potentially my favourite, but modelling? Obsessive skin-folds? Just need to clear up if he's another Cleve Hughes or not!), Wright (sounds really nervous in his interviews and has a nervous look on his face in a lot of photos, but meant to be the most talented... lol an extremely baseless opinion and I know it!), Ahern (don't know anything about him)...
