Thank you Penny...I'm glad the Australian Government has the kahunas to criticise Israel over the illegal settlements. There's zero chance of peace when Israel continues to violently evict Palestinian homeowners from their properties.

“We have said as a government we believe settlements are contrary to international law. We’ve also consistently said that they are an impediment to peace.”
Arguing that both Israelis and Palestinians wanted to live in peace, security and dignity, Wong said the government had made it clear that settlement building was inconsistent with a pathway to a two-state solution.
Over 500,000 Israeli settlers live in the occupied West Bank, a figure that rises to 700,000 when East Jerusalem is included.

I guess it's a simple as Israel = white skin = good; Palestine = brown skin = bad

In a wide rift between the US and Israel, the US has called for steps towards the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Looking like Netanyahoo n Israel determined to drag everyone into a massive *smile* fight that no-one else wants. If they're not real careful they could suddenly find themselves very much alone n completely surrounded by a whole bunch of forever pissed of Arab states.
There was a point last year where Israel seemed to be getting to a strong stage of getting along with the neighbours and constructive n peaceful agreements were being gathered. With only Iran, Hamas n Hezbollah causing ongoing problems.
It's one thing to punch on and defend one's self from assault, it's completely another matter to then turn around and obliterate everyone in the nearby vicinity simply because they happened to be close by regardless of having anything to do with the assault or not.
Israel wipes out Gaza and the Palestinians then every other Arabic nation will at the least simply turn their backs whenever someone has a lash at Israel and quite possibly quietly support and enable every mob wanting to.
Western nations are way to busy being distracted by flashing lights, bells n whistles to stay focused and interested in border wars n terrorism for more than a few months at a time whereas the genuine haters are happy to spend generation after generation trying to destroy one another.

The court did not rule on the core issue of whether Israel’s devastating military offensive against Hamas amounts to genocide. That question likely won’t be answered by the court for years.
But it did not rule out the possibility that Israel is conducting genocidal acts. In imposing “provisional measures,” the court found that concerns about possible genocide merit further review.
It called on Israel “to take all measures within its power” and “ensure with immediate effect” that its military does not commit genocidal acts, including those causing the unnecessary deaths of Palestinians or humanitarian suffering.
It also called on Israel to prevent “public incitement to commit genocide,” pointing to a series of inflammatory statements by Israeli leaders. Israel was ordered to report back to the court within one month on steps it is taking to meet these demands.
As Israel's Opposition Leader put it, Israel have been given a yellow card. Still going to fund this evil regime Joe? You've got a few decisions to make, and you've got to make them soon.
