Just watching Clarko's comments on Footy Classified, I reckon this bloke is not 100% in the job and if they fail again next season, he'd be gone permanently.

The footy narrative is amazing sometimes. Talk of Simpson being sacked, no *smile* sherlock after getting flogged by 100pts every second week, 2 wins in 40 games or something, and the financial penalties stopping that from happening.

He is one of the most unimpressive coaches I've ever observed, and without doubt THE most unimpressive coach of a big club. I've said it for years, there was a doco that followed him around a few years ago, I found it fascinating because Simpson seemed such a poor communicator, woeful, just seems dimwitted and lacking class. Yet the AFL punditry is prefacing all discussion of sacking him with he is a fantastic person and a fantastic coach, again, fascinating.

He reckons he's a the man for the rebuild, everyone knows that is *smile*. Everyone knows its just positioning to maximise his payout. That's his right, and WC were negligent to allow the situation to occur, right or wrong that is the truth of it. Am I a naive idiot to expect some semblance of basic honesty in reporting?

Couple of wins in over 2 seasons, numerous 100+ floggings, a coach that presents as bereft of ideas and has for that whole time, yet there is hesitancy, hedging and gilding of the lilly about sacking him?

Has delivered some nuggets in pressers this year "its unacceptable....but I guess we just have to accept it", he said that. "I'm not going to sit here and make excuses....but we have a lot of injuries" etc etc. Truly amazing.

the small world of Perth means the media are too close to the WAFL /Eagles.
And they know that a. Simpson should be replaced and b. WC cant do it.
So no point angering the biggest bear in town

Great post. Can you imagine the scrutiny a Richmond coach would be under if we had a couple of seasons like they have?

Sam Edmund saying the Pussies will rest Shovekins and Superman this week which gives the Dogs perfect chance to have a big win at the Pussies and finishing 8th as most would expect Cartoon to win over the Giants. All to do with %.

Not putting him on our radar but I rekcon with the smacking Essendon got and them missing finals again, I reckon Darcy Parish walks from Essendon.

And I think Geelong get him or the Hawks through an offer at him he cant refuse. And maybe Essendon, don't sign McKay to get a compo pick inside 10 and decide they want to rebuild properly. That's the smart thing to do.
