NRL

Was wrapped with the Storm win, went to the Southbank celebration to get my Storm 2012 Premiers tshirt signed by Smith, Cronk and Bellamy.... unfortunately missed Slater by an inch but I'll get him next year at a social gathering.

St George have just offerred Bellamy $6 million deal to leave the Storm before the 2013 season, and with their anti Vic history the NRL probably has endorsed it.

FWIW Bellamy will stay anyway i reckon for the 2013 season at least then he may be hi jacked which will be a great shame for the code in Melbourne.

The NRL are anti-Vic on what basis, they uphold the rules and punished cheating?

Ahh Victoria, the state of inferiority :hihi

Hope he stays, great coach, great motivator. The single biggest factor in Storm's success in my opinion

Im guessing ( just a hunch) Bellamy would rather stay , but the Storm offer is well below the St George one at this stage ,

So he is trying to get them to up the offer,

This has a similar look to it last time his contract was up and the Broncos offered him a big contract , he said he was 50-50 then about staying or going.

For those that might be mildly interested, the mighty Easts Tigers have traveled down from Brisbane to thump the Storm in a practice match at Gosch's Park tomorrow at six.

not a massive NRL fan, but i have to say that its brilliant that bellamy is staying. he is the lifeblood of that club.

and a master coach.

Hope the boys win tomorrow morning (our time) against Leeds, no injuries either would be nice!

18-14 win to your new World Champion Melbourne Storm in Leeds this morning, tries from Slater, Bromwich and debutant Tohu Harris who looks a first grader this season. Could've been more two tries disallowed one for a forward pass the other a double movement. Ground it out, bring on the Dragons in Round 1.

Good to have NRL back thank god there somthing to watch on TV.

On another note Josh Dugan is an ingrate typical of the overpaid understimulated Geny Y kids who have talent then expect to do as they like.

Josh says if people knew how hard it was being a professional sportsman they wouldnt expect so much.

Well heres a news flash Josh you imbecile - how bout you try my job for its crap money and conditions or go labor for 40 k a year and see what lifes really like instead of being fawned over and given everything plu $400- $500 k

Typical of todays yoth just turn and walk when its too hard hey, deliberately break all conditions and player code rules so he can be sacked then walk to a different club of his choice.

Joke.

PS what with Stefanovic and the other peannut from today hosting Footy - come on channel 9 ffs.

As for all this sports betting coverage too its becoming very unhealthy in an addiction riddled society, too much air time to these self serving morons.

maybe its just coz Im new to following NRL, but it seems that on the whole, its the NSW clubs that seem to have the majority of the off field issues. Would that be correct? Interested to know why that seems to be the case.

One thing I do know for sure is that Storm have the strongest 'culture' & have that knack for getting the most out of players. I put this down to Bellamy and the rest of the coaching & fitness staff. They set a pretty high standard and dont make any exceptions for the players. They reach the standard, or they dont play/get shipped out.

Guys like Cronk , Slater and Smith apart from being brilliant players are your perfect footballing role models , any code would be rapt to have them

But the weird think, speak to a NSW league supporter and they think ( Slater in particular) they are satan ,

Its quite bizzare.

So switched on to the State of Origin tonight to see NSW skipper Paul Gallen king hit a Qld player twice in the face right in front of the ref and not even get sent off.
Disgraceful act coupled by a weak official was a double whammy. What sort of a message does that send?
