Storm have re-signed Brett Finch for next year which is great news as he has slotted into the side well & solved our no 6 problems.

Good result for Storm MB they havent had a decent five eight since Scottie Hill left.

Raiders smashing the tripe outta Broncos and Tiges holding out the Sea Eagles two great results this week.

How people could think the Broncs would remain a powerhouse with - Petero, Webcke, Boyd, Kemp, Ennis, Hannat, Stagg, all leaving and of course the loss of the great man Wayne Bennett is mystifying.

Id certainly have kept Boyd or Kemp ahead of Steve Michaels that guy is an open doorway to the try line for attacking opposition.

The Broncos have always had a roster full of guns, however the salary cap has seen to it they cannot keep enough weapons in the cabinet.

Henjak is a dud compared to Bennet.

Bennet may very well deliver Dragons fans their first long cherished title in decades, the guy is an absolute master manager of men, his media profile is apparantly so far removed for his relationship with his players inside closed doors, a master manager of men and tactician is Bennett.

Solid win to the Storm tonight beating the Cowboys 20-8.Unfortunately whilst at the game I missed most of the pom's go out.

Tigers unimpresssive in edging past Easts 17-10. That said,we're now in the play-off positions & currently control our destiny.

And the Knights demise continues after being thumped by Eels.Smith might be told to pack his bags early.

Smiths defcture to Roosters next year cost him the players.

Apparantly he had a good rapport with the Knights players and now he turned his back on them theyve lost heart and stopped playing for him.

Showed some exciting times too this year the Knights.

Any chance either of the prodigal Johns boys coaching the Kinghts in the future.

Tigers coming good at the right time , Galloway and Heighington coming back will help.

Moltzen has been a bit of an inspired selection in the #7 for the Tigs.

Storm nice effort to get over Cowsys, and StGeorge just continued on in what i thought may have been a bit of a danger game gaisnt the Mountain men in Penrith.

Tahus return to Eels next year with Hayne, Reddy and Burt gives the Eels a nice edge in the backs going forward.

Sadly Knights way too soft here. Biggest mistake was initially allowing Smith to talk to Easts.Instead they should have demanded the ARL take action v Easts for trying to encourage Smith to break contract . Hefty $$ compensation , at the very least , should have been forthcoming. Smith doesn't come out of this with much redit either & it's to be hoped Easts will continue to reap the 'rewards' both club & new coach have shown they deserve.

Disappointed to report Greg Inglis has been arrested in relation to an assault on his girlfriend.Storm & NRL officials currently meeting & would expect Inglis to be missing at least a couple of games.

SUPERSTAR Melbourne Storm rugby league player Greg Inglis has been charged with the alleged assault of his girlfriend.

Inglis was arrested at his western suburbs home today and questioned by police over an attack on his partner, which allegedly left her with a black eye.

Inglis, who is a fixture in Australian and Queensland representative teams, is regarded as one of the best players in the world.

But his glittering career may have hit a major hurdle with allegations that led to police arresting him at his Altona Meadows home today.

Inglis was later questioned by police and charged with recklessly causing injury and unlawful assault before being bailed to appear in Sunshine Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Inglis was later served with an intervention order over the alleged incident.

The mercurial Inglis was recently awarded the Wally Lewis Medal for being best player in this year's State-of-Origin series against New South Wales.

The arrest could have massive ramifications for the Storm, which sits third on the ladder in the shadows of the finals and is another episode in a wretched off-field year for his sport.

Clubs and the code's administrator's have become increasingly intolerant of the bad off-field behaviour of players.

In May last year, Storm officials cleared Inglis of any wrong-doing after allegations he was involved in a drunken Good Friday brawl were aired on radio.

The club's chief executive Brian Waldron said at the time that the star's girlfriend Sally Robinson had been verbally insulted by a patron at the Icebergs venue in Williamstown.

"Greg took offence at the manner in which his partner was spoken to and a brief verbal exchange took place. After nothing more than a few heated words, Greg and his girlfriend left the establishment," Mr Waldron said.
Icebergs management later said they had no problem with the conduct of Inglis.

The Inglis drama is yet another bitter blow for the National Rugby League in a year of continuous off-field controversies.
The code chose Inglis and Manly star Brett Stewart as the faces of the code to feature in a $1.5 million advertising campaign.

But it took a major hit when sexual assault allegations were levelled against Stewart shorty before the season was due to start.

Inglis is studying to be a social worker and recently visited his old home town of Bowraville in NSW to talk to high school kids about not going down the wrong track.

He was in July voted the NRL's Good Guy of the Month for his efforts to help the young.
