Raiders second rower Joel Thomson stood down by club for assault charge.

Another youngster out drinking and fighting on the eve of the season.

The NRl for all its talk and denial is littered with a boozy, bogun, fighting culture which sadly seems fashionable for young immature morons .

The greastest issue in regard to this i believe is the distinct drop in age of first graders of mature age and the youngsters are sorely lacking in quality mature aged men to show them the way and how to show the professionalism required at NRL level.

As older players can no longer be kept as they are all going to UK and Rugby there is a distinct disparity in the behaviour of the younger players who lack the mentality to handle their new found celbrity status and money.

NRL is in denial that their product is on the wane on many levels and is slowly self destructing.

Unbelievable,when will these guys learn

Maybe the Bunnies is a whisper today for the Crock.

Damn shame the Storm couldnt re roster Mick became a real solid member of the Storms core to success.

Good news for not only QRL and the Broncs but also for NRL with Darren Lockyer hoping to play on till 2011.

Hope he can a wonderful player.

He will, good news for Storm,Ryan Hoffman has re-signed until the end of 2012.

Serial grog offender, alleged girlfriend basher and drink driver Wes Naiqama in trouble again for alcohol related incident, dont know if theres anything in it but just another example of unprofessional immature grog related behaviour.

Exactly Craig,should be sacked

Kiwi rep and former Bronco second rower Greg Eastwood joined Mick Crocker having his visa not approved for UK thus another NRL player organises prematurely and P'Os to Superleague before all is stamped and sorted.

Both Crocker and Eastwood now opn the market with the Bunnies appearing on the verge to have a nibble at both of em.

Cant believe this sort of rubbish can happen.

Managers etc i would expect would do all neccessary investigation on behalf of players to make sure they can legally enter the UK prior to running off on NRL clubs and signing big deals.

Looks like the haemorrhaging of NRL players may slow down now as i dont think theres too many left in the NRL without police records the way they are going their wont be anyone left eligible to legally get into the UK and superleague.
:hihi :hihi

Spot on Craig, the managers just assumed they would get visas, now they have egg on their face.

Benji Marshall looking to play Rugby in Japan. Didn't get the nod from Gallop, so may wait untill his contract expires, play there off season then re-sign with NRL club.
Rumours abound Carmichael Hunt offered $1m a season in Japan for Union, fulltime though.
Some big decisions coming up.
Seems like Superleague in Britain isn't the only threat now.

Young storm centre Will Chambers has signed to play S14 with the Qld Reds in 2010 on a 2 year deal ,

Has yet to fully prove himself at the highest level , but has shown good potential for his age,

Another loss for the Storm , they are losing talent without signing any, it seems.

Storms dynasty coming to an end real fast.

A club just cannot lose players like King, Geyer, Folau, Crocker, Kaufusi, Cross, Chambers and Newton and maintain a top line outfit.

Smith, Inglis, Hoffman, Johnson, Quinn, Cronk White and Slater remain which will keep Storm competetive however they are just losing too many players over too short a time frame. The likes of Blair, Manu, and Lima must step it up further for the Storm in 09, they will make the finals but i dont see them being as untouchable as they were.

There talent identification and recruitment is second to none but talent like that which the Storm has lost cannot be replaced that quickly.

The sacking of Taumata was a shame cos the kid could play and woulda filled the vital #6 and let Inglis do his thing where he is most dangerous in the centres, now it seems Inglis will be blunted again in the #6 for the coming season.

The loss of big Izzy and Crocker is really gonna hurt Storm.

Superleague no longer a threat, not many league players have a clean slate so its hard to get a visa. The dragon lady in immigration is knocking visas back at will.

Interesting development with young bad boy Arana Taumata,

Storm are keeping him in Melbourne for a year, putting him through an Alcohol rehab program, giving him another chance it seems,

He has sworn he will give up the drink and turn his behaviour around,

If he proves himself through this season, he gets another chance to go back on the list for next season,

Storm have said they want to help him personally get his life together, rather than throw him on the scrap heap,

My mail says, as a player, he could be anything, they dont want to let him go if they can help it,

Especially with Chambers leaving next season.

Good on the Storm, maybe he finally realises that he has to get his act together & I hope he does.Sounds like the coaches are behind this move.Maybe he can play in the VRL.

Storm wrap up their trial series with a 20-6 win over the Broncos who we meet in round 2 at Suncorp.Looking forward to the season but believe Manly are certainties to go back to back.Storm should finish top 4.
