Storm lose Clint Newton due to salary cap.Disappointing as he has been great value since he came down from the Knights.

Bad news for the Storm - Newton and Hoffman provide a very strong second row.

Newtons loss will impact the Storm especially when you add him to Donnelly, King and Cross.

The loss of Cross, Newton and King brings the Storm back to the field by quite a margin for mine.

The NRL is fast becoming the New Zealand and Islander Rugby League.

Will be expecting improvement from the Raiders in 08.

Likes of Bronx Goodwin, Will Zillman, Dane Tilse, Todd Carney, Neville Costigan, Lincoln Withers, Scotty Logan, Tongue and the return of Joel Monaghan from the Roosters etc will build into a very competetive unit and will be very hard to knock off at Bruce Stadium. Keep in mind for tipping next year ;)

Agree Craig, they have a good young list.Definite chance for finals next year.

I can tell you from the horses mouth that the Raiders hierarchy think they are a very good chance next year.

Wests Tigers also taken a hit losing Galea and especially Fitzhenry.

A mere blip compared to the possible loss of Farah to Souths in 2009.
I thought Farrah had committed for the long term.He would be a massive loss.Should be hooker for NSW next year.

How high are their expectations Disco?

They were confident of playing finals this year but injuries and a couple of close losses killed their chances later in the year. This year they reckon their players will improve across the board so they're supremely confident of playing finals. Don't know much more but with the evenness of the competition I guess that means they think they can win it all.

If thats correct Jubey i feel for you and your tigers, other question mark hangs over Hodgson.

Farah should be the next Captain of Wests, they do not want to lose him.

Winning a comp is the end of the road for NRL teams these days, the salary cap is so meek in the NRL that a Premiership will disolve a side.

Dogs lost - Thurston, Price, Scott, Harris, Asotasi and Anasta after their last flag and now add Perry and OMeley.

Tigers - Fitzhenry, Prince, Richards and Galea now possibly Farah.

Storm - Newton, Cross, Crossman, King

Mason blueing with Canterbury.Latest incident their refusal to allow him to be a pro boxer during the off-season,prompting Willie to spit & declare he wants to jump now & join mate Anasta at the Roosters.

Doggies seem to be having a few issues to deal with,Mason being the major one.Seems Mason is on borrowed time at Canterbury but will have to play for considerably less at another NRL Club next year.
Overnight Great Britain thump Kiwis 44-0 which means the new Kiwi's coach will soon be the ex-coach.

Did you watch the game MB...... or has anyone else?

Was very impressed by the Poms in the first Test. Having Tony Smith as their coach has breathed new life into them. That young(18 y.o. I think) forward who took on Fui Fui, and scored a try, looks a tremendous prospect. Even the tiny halback is a refreshing change........ shades of a bygone era when midgets like Tommy Bishop and Roger Millward mesmerised us.

The club has made Mason there own problem, overpaying him and cowtowing to every threat and whim Willie has made in past 4 years.

The Dogs are shot to *smile* imo as a fan the Bulldogs started to unravel the day Steve Price, left the club and took the old spirit and ethos of Canterbury Bankstown with him.

The current dogs rosters is choc full of mercenaries who are overpaid imo with Mason, Tonga and Maitua the primary offenders.

Sonny Bill Williams, Tonga and Mason being re signed at too much a cost over the past few years has cost the Bulldogs the following players.

Mark O Meley

Steven Price

Roy Asotasi

Johnathon Thurston

Braith Anasta

Nate Myles

Ben Harris.

Almost a starting 13 there alone and the club is going nowhere fast in the nextfew years.

I mean Price Thurston, Asotasi and O Meley geez i wish these 4 blokes were still at Belmore.

Folkes has lost the players, as have the board and the inmates down at Belmore are now running the assylum, and the only way this issues can be fixed is by cutting em all loose.

As a dogs fan i am losing my once unadulterated support for them, all the BS, player antics as well as the moronic cretins that follow them and have tarnished the club have left me in disbelief and embarrassment more than semblances of pride.

Its the BS environment that has flourished at Belmore that made it easy for O Meley to leave as he wasnt a fan of all the BS going on at the club.

Same goes for El Masri a wonderful servant who has been undervalued and underpaid for his entire career at the dogs.

The dogs are squeezing out quality blokes - Price, Asotasi, El Masri and O Meley and retaining the trouble makers.

Willie Mason saga likely to be sorted out at board meeting on Weds night.Wouldn't be surprised if Doggies sack Mason.

Dogs should sack all these underperformuing mercenaries and start again with kids.

They arent gonna threaten with the side next year anyway.

Agree Craig, they have let too many good players go.
