Noah Balta - Welcome to Tigerland

Balta gave us a target up forward tonight,
which we have been missing for most of the year. Ideally he remains a back but
he has demonstrated again that he can also play forward, and looks every chance of playing there into next season and beyond.
Well played Noah.

Not a forward we’ve tried that before and it hasn’t worked
Prefer him playing back intercepting marks attacking the ball and driving it forward
Please don’t put Bauer back and Balta forward
Nonsense, apart from your preference.

I was completely against Noah as a forward but i think that needs to be his position from here on. His intercept marking is fantastic but it seems to be continually countered by his consistent brain fades which on most occassions result in opposition goals. Id have him roaming outside the 50 with Lynch deep in the square. Happy for Bauer to have a year down back in the ones as he has footy iq which is what our backline is severely lacking atm

He looked ok in the forward line today, but we were playing North Melbourne.

The thing is, can anyone teach him some footy smarts, just seems unable to make good decisions,

I way prefer he plays back, can we see what Gibcus is like forward before we go for the Balta forward option?

It's a good thing he doesn't try to chew gum while attempting the advanced calculus of 'get ball, kick goal'. The poor dummy finds it hard enough putting the right foot in front of the left, anything more complex and his tiny brain might explode from the sheer strain. It's a miracle the pea in his head is able to communicate with the dinosaur brain in his hip to allow him to coordinate his actions to kick the ball at all, or that they even allow him out of the sheltered workshop to play in the first place. Please, nobody ask the stupid dumb moron the *smile* score or the universe might collapse on itself. For *smile*'s sake. Let's put Stephen Hawking at CHF.

A few too many insults Spook, it lost the impact. Or maybe a few too many Sherbets tonight..?

For me Balta is still a backman. Against good teams he'll quickly get worked out as I don't think he has the forward craft. And our backline is a rabble.

I think he's lost all confidence in the last few weeks. 2nd quarter was a perfect example. Ball was about to be kicked forward for North from a mark. Balta was facing Larkey, not looking at the ball at all. Larkey simply side-stepped Balta at the right time and took an uncontested mark. That's not the Balta I've seen this year.

For me Balta is always going to kick goals if he’s played forward , such an athlete and great grab , however imho his best position is in the backline , such a weapon from back there , is it best for him to play back or forward for the team , well that’s up to the new MC , for me hes a lock in the back half and pinch hits forward or in the ruck when needed .

Noah had a few high speed chasedowns when up the front. He was gassed after each effort but he made some serious long gutchurning runs.
A forward line that includes Balta MJR Coulthard Cumberland could apply decent pressure

There's your answer. Get out of your own way.
its not the 80s where we only needed one scoring forward , Balta has had chances as a forward and not consistently performed and our forward line certainty hasn’t worked well when he’s forward , I’m not totally against playing him there through the pre season, especially if Gibcus comes back fit , as Young will definitely be one of our starting Key defenders , however I still think he’s a better back man then he is forward and I definitely think we are a better team with him back then forward

Had his chances? He's never played four games in a row there.

If he was the lock in key forward you need to win flags he would have shown more then he has and with Lynch been out and jacks form poor for sometime , if the MC thought he was a good full time option forward surely he would have got even more opportunities forward . Time will tell and he has plenty , however theres not much saying he can be anything more then a pinch hitting forward at this point .

It looked like it was gunna be either Balta or Gibcus as our next KPF, it now looks like it’ll be Noah with Gibcus to play the straight ahead role as defender. I’m fairly confident Noah could be a 25-30 goal forward in 2024 if he plays a full season.

Centre half forward wandering down the ground further clucking big marks down the life. And run run run

Wait, so the MC doesn't get it wrong?
