Have a way to go before the Andy Collins/Lenny Hayes ones. ;D

We can't all be fervent Patrick Dangerfield knockers. ;D

But yes Andy didnt quite live up to leysy's expectations, even if the Hayes comparison was more about style.

The game in the avatar was a ripper though. ;D

your are right, besides a couple of tackles a game Cotchin is the equal of Ablett......

You said Trent was better when fit. Funny you lecture me on stats so often yet use them yourself when it suits. What about finals performances and success? Norm Smith medal or hardly a touch in a knockout final? I'd take that over possession numbers any day of the week. Trent is a wonderful footballer but he's no Gary Ablett....yet.

I really like tigger but unfortunately I think B grader is his maximum. Which for the pick we used on him ... Not a great result. He is the type of player you would be happy with if it was your 2nd/3rd round or pre season pick. I would like to see him spend SOME time in the middle. Not sure DH sees that as an option at this point

Obviously you want to hit an A grader every time you use top ten pick but pretty happy with him as a B+ grader solid citizen.

He actually reminds me of Andy Collins, the good one from Hawthorn. Medium back pocket is a really imp0ortant role these days. The way footy is played now they'll regularly the only guy in the defensive 50 battling with the oppositions most dangerous small/medium. I usually feel confident if that defender is Flossy.

What I'd like to see more from him in the future is the attacking breaks when we have the ball. Much like Laird for Adelaide. I don't think Vlossy is going to be a midfielder. That's fine.

I think it is clear, leon, that Vlastuin is a cut below the Adelaide small defenders. And sure, he lacks half a yard. But he hasn't put in or the past three weeks. He just spat the dummy today. I'm interested to see how he handles it.

Do you think he'll make it?

A belated reply. I think Floss is an honest defender who has succeeded in that role but perhaps he's gone off the boil because is being expected to show so much leadership down there with Chaplin out usually now. Maybe he has been disheartened by our EF failures, and what Fasolo was able to do in Pies match, or just being told to stay deep. Think he can find form again but wouldn't mind seeing him get a burst in the midfield occasionally just to freshen him up or increase his confidence.

More concerned about whether the defence is imploding a bit as others have commented. Saw worrying signs on Sat. Even Rance slumped down on his haunches for long periods and they were blaming each other for goals getting through. But, overall, I think it's beacuse when they do repel an attack and drive it forward, they often get caught out by sling-shot entries that catch them out because our mids or forwards have turned it over gain. Our FL inefficiency has been our weakness for many years now and it kills morale down back.

Couldn't agree more, our defenders are constantly finding themselves out of position due to them. Not the individual defender's fault (unless they were the one who turned it over!)

And to think that comparisons with Luke Hodge were made.

Vlastuin is in no way comparable to Luke Hodge in any way.

You don't draft solid football players in the first round of a draft, which is what Vlastuin is currently. Just doesn't get enough of the ball. Throw him in the guts and find out once and for all.

I think the comparisons with Like Hodge are reasonable. Brett Deledio would kick at least five on either of them.

I know that's a little bit rude to say on a football Forum.

His lack of offensive output and rebound is seriously disappointing. Offers no support to Houli. Midfield is worth a shot, but I'd say it's a long shot. Been the same solid foot soldier for a few years now without making any strides.

Give me a break , he is playing to coaches rules .
People were taking about being the next captain of this club!!.
He is still young has courage and will be a player !!

PRE hyperbole at its best.
