Amen. These 2 will leave and be very good players at other clubs if we don't manage their development better

Isn't that Mark Wiilams department?

shocker today for whatever reason. not down on him though. agree that him and Kmac could go to the middle, both have grunt.

Another first round draft pick who is solid and nothing more.

Solid ain't good enough

Vlastuin has been given a lot more responsibility in defence in 2016. Due in part to his delusion, in part to ours, and in part a palpable lack of football ability he has come up well short. Three weeks in a row.

He was given a roll through the middle today, and got worse.

He's twenty years old and we have to keep him out there. So he can learn the game. And maybe have a bit of a dip.

Now there is a word that sometimes gets bandied about in respect of Flossy and that word is leadership. And it's just a word.

I must add that I have faith in Hardwick's ability to get the best out of Vlastuin. Did you see Vickers today? He gave and he improved again.

Obviously Vlastuin is a tougher case but if anybody can turn him around Hardwick can.

:rofl

Was out of position in the backline today a lot. He was sent forward in the final quarter and looked completely lost there, should have attacked a ball in the pocket right in front of me, but decided to do the defensive thing (which he has been trained to do in the D50) and went for the man, if he'd attacked the ball he probably would have won it and maybe got a shot at goal.

Disappointed with the start to the year he has made.

Downright terrible.

The biggest drop off of anyone on the list.

Looking totally lost and unbelievably slow.

Had high hopes that Vlastuin would eventually play a role through the midfield, particular at centre bounces, but his recent form and concerning lack of pace and strong movement is both mystifying and worrying.
Thought this player was going to be a real asset to the Tigers ... hope he proves this to be just a temporary form slump.

This bloke needs a Jobe Watson Gary Ablett aerobic pre-season where he goes into areas of pain he has never seen before and deops 5 kilos. And take Lennon along with him.
Then plays midfield every week until he gets it 30 times.
Honestly these blokes need to be challenged within the club as far as their endurance and work ethic goes, but have the shackles taken off on game day and rediscover themselves.
Richmondized and its sad to see

You on the reds tonight JD?

Don't know if he's got the speed or tank as a midfield player.
Which was the knock on him coming into the draft

This. Will never make it as a midfielder for that reason. Never had the tank, never racked up big numbers in the juniors either.

Thats the problem with our recruitment staff, we pick safe foot soliders rather than guys with x factor. Vlaustiun was only ever going to be a foot solider and never an a grade midfielder, which is something we are crying out for.

Interesting post. Needs to want the ball more. And that's a sad comment to make as I think back to his first year in the system he wanted the ball.

Nah. Stone cold sober, jb.

I'm just obliquely saying that I think Vlastuin is a much bigger cat than Tyrone ever was.

I'm a huge non fan. He's the one I have had in mind to trade for a draft choice at year's end. This is the first time I've mentioned the player.

FWIW I think he's putting a lot of heat on Frank. Especially in tandem with Bludgy McLennon. That might be a good thing, eh?

Agree, its the will that seems to have change in him. 1 contested possession today. He's averaging 3.7 from his 3 games this year. Averaged 6.1 in his first year and has gone backwards since then in terms of the contest.
