Nick Vlastuin

Certainly not what I was suggesting, and don't think it does.

stupid

stjuːpɪd
adjective
1. having or showing a great lack of intelligence or common sense.
2. dazed and unable to think clearly.
3. used to express exasperation or boredom. informal
Glad to hear mental illness wasn’t what you intended to convey but from 1) and 2) above you will understand how the word might be read that way.

How do you know if he is still receiving attention for his numerous (4-5) prior incidents of concussion. Is testing now mandatory in such a case or does it only depend on the player reporting difficulty?

How do you know what he thinks about if your GUESS is that he doesn’t think about it at all?

If he was having any symptoms then they would be identified in the extensive range of health checks they do with players. They all use apps to record health markers each day now on a range of things, as well as the other regular screens that happen.

If they was the hint of a problem then he wouldn't be playing footy.

I don't know what he thinks about, hence the use of the term 'guess'. My guess is based on the fact he came out and said people shouldn't blame Dangerfield for the clash, it was an accident and just a normal footy contest, so I think it is unlikely he is too bothered about it now.

Come now I dispense the word quite regularly on this forum

Along with ‘imbecile’, ‘moron’ and ‘lukewarm *smile*’

Is idiot savant without the savant ok?

On the traditional Nick Vlastuin brain fade, I think it's about a momentary loss of concentration. And I think it's inevitable. A little quirk. He's having a few more atm due to early season mediocre form and a rib thing he's doting on.

Is he gone? Don't reckon.

Stupid is a dangerous discription. It suggests mental illness.. We could all do better.

If I may, mo, I think "stupid" implies blame. That there is an element of wilfulness in the ignorance or error.

Out of form, and looks somewhat disinterested.

Has been out of sorts and off his best for some time.

I am a massive Vloss can but I think it’s time he had a week off for a mental freshener, or a spell in the twos.
Won’t be this week with Broady still out.

Time to start rotating a few senior boys that are ball watching or have lost their intensity.
Not Hardwick’s style so probably won’t happen but should.

Lucky that we have so many injuries or would be prime for a dropping. Undisciplined, unaccountable and silly (I won't use stupid or I might get told off) decision making.

So far from his best.

I love Nick like a child but he has always been frustrating.
Loves a double fist....
The swans game a few years ago when he tears it to shreds ,jumps on Buddy and takes a hanger and than snots someone where I reckon he got weeks.
He is a bit of an enigma.

My view is he is a side effect of our poor standards.

He has clearly lost mental focus, when you get to the point where you are arguing with umpires with the ball in your hand before the whistle has gone you have moved into the mental space of a spectator, not a player.

I think he has made a transition from being a prolific free kick conceder, to just flat out undisciplined, to having a chip on his shoulder so big it has killed his game.

I'd call him a victim of poor leadership.
I agree.
Needed someone to encourage him to keep playing on the edge but don't become "that" player.
Has killed momentum countless times with undisciplined acts.
Such a good player when he is clean and focused.

Thanks for your reply. Good to know this is being continually tested.
As for what Nick said. What else could he say? I had the impression that Nick himself didn’t remember anything about the incident?

Thanks Jack. You’re the expert wordsman on this site.
Sorry Spook if I over reacted but I hate criticism that may be read as attacking a player for being dim, dull or stupid in the sense of there being an absence of intellect.

Stimulate him play him forward he is very good down there, great mark and kick.
Like racehorses athletes need to be stimulated.
Short back into the backline with Broad the week after.
Maybe Cotch as well or ise Judson quarterback style, train him up - and drop Hugo

He's definitely a bit flakey, mo, but I'm not likely to criticise anybody for that. ;D

Absolute shadow of the champion we know and love at the moment.

Would I donate a kidney to this legend?

Without hesitation.

He'll come good

At risk of stating the bleeding obvious, if he or Dylan get injured (or suspended) we are really gone, despite his ordinary form. When he looks around he no longer sees his premiership team mates so it's hard to get that enthusiasm that's needed to excel in this caper. Broad coming back soon will help him but he knows our young backline is brittle and winning scores are unlikely at this stage. Extremely hard for players that have tasted premiership glory but he has to copy the efforts of Jack and Daniel because we can't afford to rest him. Just get off your butt, stop the undisciplined acts and earn your excellent pay packet!

Ugggghhhh! How bad is he going? Slips over all the time, gives away frees and continually beaten by his man. Looks slow and old even though he is only just 29.

He's a champion of our club but has had a horrible season so far. If we didn't have so many injuries he could well be in the twos. Might end up there as it is.

Sad to see him struggling so much.

Yep, he used to be so confident but he is a shadow of that. I’d have him up for trade. Might need a fresh start.
On current form he is bottom five in this side.
