24-10. Easy FG puts you 3 scores up away from home. Keeps the crowd out of the game. Gives no momentum to the home side. They do not lose from 27-10.

There are no guarantees they will get back here next year.

Yeh, they were awful. And in reality Purdy made 3 huge plays with his legs, other than that the offense wasn't great.

Unbelievable they won this game.
 
Good comeback but let’s be honest the Niners were aided by Dan Campbell…. and the Niner defense is a disaster. Chiefs will start as solid favourites.

Yeh, Chiefs seemed to have hit their stride in the playoffs.

I couldn't watch it so was just following the scores on the app. What actually happened? Why didn't they take the FG?

Because apparently that's the way Dan plays. And the moron commentator basically said don't judge the decision on the result. You don't need to, the FG to put you 27-10 was an absolute no brainer.

And it wasn't 4th and inches, it was 4th and 2 or 3. The second time was 4th and 3. So dumb.

The commentators were backing the coaches decision to go on fourth down because they had been so successful with it all year, they are a team that goes for it etc… Yeah but when you are up 14 you kick the field goal every time no matter what. And when you can tie the scores you take the field goal no matter what. Just abysmal from the Detroit coaching staff

I missed pretty much the entire 2nd half, but will watch the replay tonight.

Interesting all the bagging of Dan Campbell's play calling. But having watched a lot of Lions games this year if he was going for it on 4th downs that is how they have played all year. It's been fun to watch and won them a few games along the way. I remember them getting 4th down and 5 a few times with running plays.

But as I said I missed what happened so will watch to see what all the fuss is about and pass judgement then.

The game position should dictate the call. You don't give a team any opportunity to get back into the game. The whole momentum of the game shifted on that one call. The 49ers didn't look like getting anywhere near them. A 3 score lead away from home with a few minutes gone in the second half. You simply do not lose if they kick the FG (they could have missed it).

Detroit losers. Led by loser Dan.

Hilarious how much praise the 49ers are getting. Purdy should have been intercepted 3 times (he was intercepted once), and one of them ended in a TD. The oppo coach passes up 2 FG's and gives you the ball back. Both times they scored TD's.

SF's d is very poor. If Mahomes doesn't get injured hard to see Chiefs getting beat.
 
2024 Drofbardi Trophy - Conference Championship Completed.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but terrible events this week see another re-shaping of the 2024 Drofbardi Trophy and....wait for it.....a new leader, that being Pidley. I know...I know. How could this be ? But with Super Bowl week (in a fortnight) presenting 38 points, it is all set up for another all too typical, and magnificent, Pidley disaster. Just watch.....

Pidley and his grandson Waldo get 5 out of 6. MCR moves into 2nd place and Jerry into 3rd. Miles moves from 8th to 4th with 5 from 6 as well. Fawcett does another u-turn - this time backwards - and goes from 1st to 6th after a 2 from 6 week. Tompers slides back also. Perhaps the story of the 2024 Drofbardi Cup so far is the performance of MoopsClelland winner, Moops. This is the one he wants the most, but maybe like Rory at the Masters, he's putting too much pressure on himself.

I will put the details of the Super Bowl round up next week. But again, it's 38 points up for grabs. 1 game x 8 points using the spread. 4 x receiving and rushing over/unders, and 2 QB passing over/unders ......all 6 being worth 5 points each for a grand total of 38.

Dan's presser was poor. Pathetic questioing. He should have been roasted, they were all too scared.

He wore a hat that covered his face and barely looked at the camera. Weak as *smile*. Face the music.

Took no responsibility for the loss. Felt good about the 4th downs. We learned a lesson. 49ers were too good.
 
The fall out focus tomorrow will be interesting. I'm betting most shows and commentary will be on Lamar Jackson, Dan Campbell and the Niner defense.
