NFL & NCAA Football Threads

I’ve never liked quarterbacks that run all the time. Creates so many issues….
They do my head in too, from Kaep time, I got so excited, the runs versus Green Bay were insane but I reckon we would have beaten Baltimore if they brought Alex Smith back in when he got fit from his injury. But he got dumped and Kaep did a Purdy at the start of his career, no one has a read of them yet and they just come in and surprise the league. Then the next 2-3 years the opponents work out Kaeps flaws and the Niners flaws - keep the score low, Kaep can run but his throws are like the scud missiles, way way off!!

Lock in another NFL fan.

Australian cricket better be very careful, they’re losing summer sport eyes to a more dynamic sport every day.
Biggest issue for NFL for me is I rarely get to watch it. Most games seem to be during working hours in Australia. Or at 5am in the morning; I’m not that keen!

But I did enjoy the few games I was able to watch. It helps that Junior is a big fan.

What's It Like being with Trevor Lawrence In The Huddle?

This is brilliant, I don't know how they do it, I'm lucky to remember the time nowadays

Yeah I assumed it was Ridley hacking into the server to change his tips?
Nah I need to get my servants to turn the computer on. Pretty sure it was Chumpford having a major meltdown after he realised I had defeated him in his own competition. He tried to sabotage the server.

Abort Drofbardi, abort!!!

I know this is a strange concept for you but some of us are gainfully employed. Watching it for 3 hours after work is not always an option. As much as we may all like the game, the bug has not yet been caught by my dear, and extremely lucky I might add, wife.

Sounds good, it'll be like the Play School song

There's a Bill in there
And a Niner as well
There are Cowboys who smell
Kansas has stories to tell (stories to tell)
… Open wide, come inside
It's NFL School

Yeah, what do you think of Hurts running all the time though, he threw 38 times, ran 15, for 53 plays - that's an awful lot of plays for a QB?
Do you think sometimes these running QB's can stifle running backs games, looked it today.
Mahomes went 27 throws and 6 runs, 33 play involvements.
Hurts was the best player on the field for mine. Incredible game. He never got the opportunity to win it at the end due to a bum call (in the context of how the game was reffed it was a shocker). I don't doubt he would have at least driven to a field goal. Mahomes is unreal but purely on the game hard to understand how Hurts was not MVP.

As Red pointed out the Eagle D and their dud coaching cost them. Siriani looked like a knob the way he carried on at times.

Credit to the Kansas O-line though, they gave great protection.

Have loved the NFL since Don Lane introduced me to it. What a game. And the more you learn about it the more you appreciate it. It's such a great tactical battle bewteen attack and defense. Love the fact you aren't restricted to attacking any one way, you can run it or throw it. And the pure athleticism of the players is staggering. The options on every play are endless. It's not far behind the AFL for me in terms of spectator enjoyment. Beats the NBA and MLB for me. Although I do love watching the World Series. The yanks do get a few things right.

Siriani IS a knob I reckon.

And great comp Red, was late to join it but a lot of fun. Underrated the Chiefs most of the year at my peril.

I think the AFL are still looking for a Gil replacement, imagine you would be on the shortlist with the sports administration expertise displayed here?

Agree great game, hurts BOG. Mahomes great. Was it just me or was Eagles defence woeful letting toney run the ball back? the wall was great sure, but looked limp. Eagles defence generally inferior I thought.

So we all agree (Mopsy) this shouldn't be called offside with just 54 seconds left right? Same rule applies as yesterday, let them play?
Brady man - Tuck Rule, the soft penalty here, Field Goal kickers saving his ass twice, hmmmm

3rd and 10 - Pats down by 4 - game over if this is not called :censored:

Pats win in OT, beat Rams in the SB 13-3.

The Toney return hasn’t received the credit it deserved imo.

He either misjudged the flight or the ball dipped on him, either way he had every right to jump out of the way and let the ball go.

Took guts to take the ball so low, somehow evade tacklers and ultimately make a great return.

It’s a tough call mate, but ultimately probably the right one I think.

To my old eyes looks like he has encroached past the line of scrimmage, an inexcusable mistake.

But yes I do subscribe to letting them play, the holding penalty against the Eagles in the final 2 mins was very tough, especially given what had been let go throughout the game.

That applies to offside as well, that wasn't the first 'offside' in the game?

Anyway, I was all for the holding (and the offside) because he was 'holding', the horse's mouth said it himself :eyes

“I pulled on his jersey. They called it. I was hoping they would let it ride,” Bradberry said of the play, according to Josina Anderson of CBS Sports.
