New clash jumper - reversed strip

If our "clash" strip was *smile*...i wouldn't want to wear it. But it's not. No stylized tiger. No weird patterns. No Daliesque monstrosity ala Haw. Just a negative image. The Golf Flog on SEN called it the worst in the comp and disgusting this afternoon. As if it's our fault we have to wear it anyway.

Agree. The reverse strip has grown on me anyway. We have won a lot of games wearing it. At the end of the day its yellow and black and that is all that matters if we make the GF

pretty sure that used to be the case but it was changed about 8-10 years ago. I remember in 2010 Collingwood were given their home jumper for the GF because they finished higher. But I remember it being a coin toss when they played those 2 GF's against Brisbane.
It still might be a coin toss to decide the change rooms and who enters the stadium first.

What a load of *smile* the away jumper is. Not just the look of the horrible thing but the absurd premise that you need an away strip to distinguish each team.
As a kid I used to watch footy like everyone else back then on a black and white TV and never had any trouble picking the teams. Richmond Vs Essendon, North Vs Collingwood, Fitzroy Vs Carlton and never a problem.
And if ever in doubt you only had to look at the shorts: the home team wore black and the away team wore white.
The AFL in their relentless pursuit of merchandisable products is starting to look like the showbag stand at the Royal Melbourne show.
