Neil Craig

Bit of a shame this has gone quiet. It probably means the skunks or carlton are about to outbid us.

Craig is exactly the sort of high level professional Richmond really need.

Interesting article...

Russell said on 3aw last Thursday (I think) that Craig was going to Richmond. Gerard moved on so quick due to coaching stuff it got no traction. For what it is worth.

That article differs from the speculation that has been going around. Which is that Melbourne want him as a Director of Coaching but we want him as Head of Sports Science along with a coach mentoring role.

Craig will be at cartlon apparently. Sportsnews article found on one eyed Richmond. Can't paste link sorry as on mobile phone.

Icke sacked as Neil Craig steps inBy Kim Hagdorn
29 September 2011 11:40AM EST

ShareFORMER Adelaide coach Neil Craig looks set to be Carlton's football manager in a shock Blues move that forces Steven Icke out.

Icke, 55, is a shock sacking from the Blues to make way for Craig.

Oh well, another person we can all hate.

Dont think much of Craig as a senior assistant to Dimma. Much prefer him in an elite fitness role.
Would much prefer Eade, Laidley or even Gary Ayres as senior coaching assistant than Craig.
Ayers took a stand alone club such as Pt Melb undefeated all the way through VFL season and won the GF.

Article in The Hun doesn't even mention us .

The Hun had an article yesterday saying we breached the salary cap....they're a poor excuse for news and that article is garbage, it tells us absolutely nothing we didn't already know.

So Carlton were talking porky pies like I suspected when they said they weren't remotely interested in Craig.

Hagdorn is a journo in the West; he has no idea. He is just guessing and generating webhits for his employer.

Id be more than happy to not see this bloke at Punt Road TBH, is his record that good? If he was, he'd still be sitting in the senior coaches office at the crows.

Neil Craig to be Demons new footy chief
Scott Gullan and Jay Clark From: Herald Sun September 29, 2011 1:26PM

MELBOURNE has won the race to secure the services of former Adelaide coach Neil Craig.

The Dees are poised to announce Craig has signed on to a post as head of the club's football department.

He will act as a mentor to new coach Mark Neeld.

Melbourne beat several teams wooing the sacked Crows coach, headed by Carlton and Brisbane.

Craig split with Adelaide this year after seven and a half seasons with the Crows.
