Phanto, what are your thoughts on Jed Anderson (NT)? Haven't seen much of him but there's been mounting press about him here in the Top End. Apparently plenty keen on his leadership as well as his playing ability. Reports are that several clubs are keen.

Very Nice player is Jed, when looking at his light frame you'd think he was little more than a outside runner but he really tucks in and wins it in close as well. Has a bit of x-factor about him too, in that he is a fantastic contested mark and can kick some clever goals.

He is zoned to GWS under their draft concessions and he also trained with Giants over the summer pre-season this year so I think it's pretty safe to say he'll get pre-listed by the Giants before the draft giving other clubs no chance. Much in the same way Curtly Hampton got onto their list.

How the hell did Billings miss out on the best for Metro??

I believe today's games at Etihad are televised on Fox Footy?

Might leave the office early today to check them out.

How tall is he?

188cm but plays taller. Reminds me of Barry Hall.

Second qtr not so good.

The other talent of the day is the goal umpire right of screen!! She can wave my flags any time!

Plenty of impressive players strutting their stuff for Vic metro and WA right now (live on Foxtel).

Bombers look to have a beauty in Joe Daniher...giant, moves well, marks well...half way through the 3rd and has 11 possies for 3 goals, 5 behinds...only downfall seems to be his accuracy. Lucky bastards!
Viney all class...
Garlett looks a beauty and would suit us beautifully IMO. Couple of other indigenous WA boys look good...unsure of their names. Simpson is one...hope we look at this type.
Another F/S for North in McDonald (I think) looks good...
Like the look of Carter for WA...genuine footy smarts - will end up at Collingwood (joke, but they love the "footy player first, then athlete type).
Harry Marsh is another who looks lively...strong in the contest and plays with urgency.

Just some of my thoughts...

I watched a half of the South aust game. I thought Mayes from SA looked a really nice player, beautiful ball user. From what they were saying he may be a late first rounder so could go around our pick.

A couple of player thoughts from the games I have seen.

Jonathon O'Rourke and Sam Mayes are my favourite players after Whitfield. Both have great skills, good height and running ability. The perfect modern runners.

Olly Wines and Jake Stringer both look on the heavy and slow side to me. Only 1 or 2 spots in each team these guys can fill.

Big fan of Taylor Garner and Ben Kearns from Vic Country also. Happy to reach for Taylor if O'Rourke and Mayes are gone as he wont last to our 2nd pick.

As much as id love the Tigers to snare a Lewis Jetta type which would add so much i fear using a 1st rounder on small indigenous kids for one reason and one reason only.

THIS CLUB JUST CANNOT SEEM TO DEVELOP ABORIGINAL BOYS.

I feel the RFC is the worst club in the league when it comes to bringing on the aboriginal boys our record is sheizenhausen.

A Lewis Jetta type is one of the needs for the Tigers as is a strong skilled ball winning mid.

For those who have watched this series, please give me your best of each type.

1. Inside midfield extractor -
2. Outside midfield runner & deliverer -
3. Mobile tall key forward -
4. Small crumbing forward -

Big wrap for this boy. The perfect build for a modern footballer and very smart with the ball. At 187 he has great pace off the mark.

Obviously some players lean towards one of those a bit but you need to target guys that can do both to a very good level ILO. Especially early on.

Ideally yes but not always the case.

For example, Travis Boak played almost exclusively as an outside runner in his year.

If you want to build the elite midfield that is needed to win premierships reckon just about all of your best 5 (if not all) need to be at a high standard both inside & out.

So not really "ideally" for leysy. More "crucially".
