One that wasn't named in the best but looked like he had a good game statistically was Nathan Hrovat. 32 Disposals, 15 Contested Possessions (equal most on ground), 6 Clearances (most on ground), 7 Inside 50's, 2 Tackles and 81% Disposal Efficiency, nice line that.

Edit: Sorry he plays for Vic Metro, just didn't mention it :spin

BTW does anyone have much info about an NT boy called Jack Mcewin. Against SA, he had only 15 disposals, but had 8 Clearances (by far the most on the ground) and an 87% DE

Phant, do the Div 1 teams usually play the Div 2 teams? If not then why this year?

They have over the last few years.

The idea began either 2005 or 2006, when Leon Harris and I were having a conversation, during the cricket season, about the U18 champs, and how recruiters couldn't gauge the performances of Div 2 stars, like Tambling, against Div 1 standard.

We took the idea, early in the next TAC season to, what's his name, the fellow who runs junior / pathways footy in Australia. He liked the idea.

Basically, it came out of the Tambling situation because, in 2004, Div 1 sides played amongst themselves, as did Div 2 sides, and you couldn't get a comparison between the two.

I hope that answers your question.

Certainly does, thanks. Didnt realise it had been happening for the last few years!

Oh, and BTW, what's his name is, of course, Kevin Sheehan.

Oliver Wines is one to put in your little black and yellow book.

Already did a while ago. Was wondering whether taking him at our 1st pick would be too early. Now worried he won't last.

What type of player is he?

A 185cm 82kg midfielder from the same TAC team as Dustin Martin.

Whether Wines is as good, don't know, haven't seen.

Wines will go top 10-15. Tough inside mid with elite hands, kicking can be a bit wonky but is not beyond repair. Look at what we have done with Griggs kick !! He would really add some more grunt to us, he is a gun stoppage player and can run despite his already big frame. Tackles hard and often. Hardwick would love him.

Famous last words. It may be a worry.

There was never any doubt about Dustin Martin's kicking by either foot, even as a junior.

Also, Grigg as a junior was an excellent left foot kick. In fact his kicking this season has only just returned to what it was as a junior.

From what I hear Wines is very good by foot and makes sound choices.
