Nathan (Axel) Foley [MERGED]

Re: Nathan Foley

Fair enough. Those guys are all outside the top 30 and averaging about what Foley is. This is why people think it would be a good idea to try and stretch Foley's TOG out if possible, because as I've said, if he spends the extra time playing it's hard to imagine he wouldn't increase his stats to a point where he's ranking inside the top 20 at worst which would in turn help the club in an area where it is currently ranked last (by a considerable margin) in the league. Maybe you can't do it this year, but I can't see why it wouldn't begin next year with another preseason behind him.

Re: Nathan Foley

Without trying to get emroiled in the TOG debate too much, my only concern is that as a young player with a light frame, if he gets tired as well, he will be more susceptible to injury than he already is. Would hate to see him get injured.

I *think* Terry was discussing the players who had debuted/drafted since he'd arrived...would explain the abscence of Foley, Raines, Schulz, Roach etc...

Re: Nathan Foley

Yeah, you're right...perhaps its only the players who have arrived at Richmond since Terry took over...oh I dunno ;D

That would make slightly more sense, meaning Terry's been getting players here with an overall goal in sight...

Yep, I reckon we'll step him up for another 15-20 minutes TOG next year (at least to start with), then the same next season.

ah razor i suppose nathan played against the second stringers again tonight. ya know when he was of tyhe ground the power was in the game. but wait a min nathan doesnt have the stamina and doesnt have the fortitude and hes certainly not the right pedigreeto play a full game even though he does it easily at the lower level; ya know theres common sense and theres well stupidity.

Re: Nathan Foley

Awesome game and tough as.  Axel was a real prime mover clearing the ball for us tonight.  3 votes from me. :clap :clap :clap

Re: Nathan Foley

How can nathan not be listed in our best players?

Facts!

1) He had 7 or more clearances, which is elite level

2) When he was on the field we scored goals and went forward, when he was off, we didn't (first 15 minutes we were behind, then what happend?)

3) Three direct goal assists

4) Not one single ineffective pass. Tell me truthfully, when you saw Nathan burn everyone off at the centre clearance, look up near our 50, and prepare to pass, you all thought "phew, it's nathan, this will be a deadly pass to the right target"

it was

Re: Nathan Foley

Awesome game by axel. His best for the tiges so far. Eliminated all the doubts I had about him. Good on him.

Re: Nathan Foley

I think he had 7 clearances to half time. There's no need to carry on the arguments about him anymore, his actions are doing all the talking.
