Nathan (Axel) Foley [MERGED]

thought his handballing on sat night was elite.
Agree, some great work in close - over his head to a voice. Shades of Brodders (c 1997?).

He may have lost some pace, but he is a very good footballer. Others can run the bursts now, he is a beauty in close.

After the rumours early in the year that he might not play, and that last year people were seemingly okay with the idea of trading Nathan due to his injuries, I'm rapt that he is doing so well.

His 2 running goals against the Dogs reminded me of his 2007 form and another solid game on sat night just bolsters what is developing into a fine midfield group.

Nice game tonight. Great to see him getting back to where he was.

He and Houli stood out like the proverbial tonight in a side where too many of our good players had bad days.

Kept trying to make things happen.

was best on Ground till half time and then tired. didnt look good from the moment when they showed him calling in Jackson when he was stuffed.

Plays his 100 game next game. I'm very please for him as I thought last year he might not make it back.

Adcock a big out for the Lions. I expect Foley to have a huge game this week as the Lions are short of 2nd tier midfielders. Chimp and Martin will surely get a tag before Foley as well I would think.

Always liked Nafe and he was approaching A grade in 2008, just hope injury hasn't seen the best of him though.

Well done Axle.

Now just needs to stop the habit of bouncing the ball as soon as he gets it in his hands.

I actually like that quick bounce. It's as if he's announcing to the supporters that's he's turned on the after burners so look out.

Looked like the Foley of old on the weekend.Seems to be getting his Mojo back. The pre-season can only help.

Tucky said in an interview after Sundays game that his (Foley) ankle is still giving him some grief... I wonder if that will mean more surgery at seasons end.

I also wonder if that contributes to him going to ground as often as he has been this year. Don't remember him doing it in the past.

Wouldn't hurt GR.Have a look and a cleanout if necessary.

Just wondering how Nathan Foley is tracking this pre-season? How did he look at training today. I’m assuming no news is good news. I’m still hoping he can reclaim is best 2009 form. If he can he might even be better as he won’t cop a tag. If Foley has a good season then we are another step closer to making the finals this year.
