Nathan (Axel) Foley [MERGED]

Just what has Axel got to do to get picked for the 1sts? Last two weeks his performance was way above Lennon and C Ellis yet snubbed by Hardwick again.
Last one week. He only played half a game against Coburg.

Still, novel to see someone complaining about the selection of talented youngsters over injury-prone battlers, rather than the other way around.

I am all for burgeoning talent but having read many posts the majority say C Elis is going to be very good but not quite ready for AFL. As for Lennon from reports he has still away to go. I know they are our future but we should panic rush them.

Foley is a bit more than a "battler". Fully fit he'd be one our top 6 mids right now and improve the team.

Unfortunately looks like he was injured again?

He hasn't been fully fit for seven years.

Lennon is ready. Should have been in R1. Ellis, we'll find out.

There you go.

I still remember him bursting out of the middle and hitting fev on the chest playing for vic. That year he was one of the best mids in the comp!
Yeah, I was there. He was great. It was 2008.

Poor Foley he's just been so injury prone his whole career. Would be nice to have him complete a competitive season but time is running out. He turns 30 this year.

How long is he contracted for? From memory another we seemed to needlessly contract for an extended period when not necessary.

Contracted to the end of 2015. He will need to put in some good games when he resumes from injury. May get a 1 year extension

It will be the Richmond way and we will reward him by extending his contract for another 3 years. Simply because he is such a nice bloke.

Really shame about Foley. One of a long line of Tigers who were cruelly felled by injury when hitting their prime and never been able to make it back ... Freezer, Cogs, and to a lesser extend Dragga, Pollack (misadventure), Knights and Ty Vickery (heart transplant)

Any news on how Nathan is going in his recovery from injury?

Deserves some luck, really hoping he can get back into the senior side by the end of the season.
