His dropping back and taking marks in the last quarter reminded me of the CEO doing that against the pies friday night game many years ago .

Benny had bigger claws. ;D

As I wasn't at the game and didn't listen to it , how did Nank go?

I know they smashed us at CB and clearances so obviously Sandilands gave them first use , but in our game style means nothing.

So how did he go around the ground and as a link up man and another midfielder?

His last quarter was excellent.
And one thing he can do well - and Sandilands can't do at all - is pick the ball up.

Yes they did. And yes, it meant nothing.

Totally agree with the last few posts, Nank is just so versatile, gives a 100% at every contest and doesn't stop. His ability to mark defensively and to run forward link with handball and take a mark and kick a goal is unmatched I reckon. Not even Big Max can run through the midfield and link up like Nank does.

Gave big Toby a vote.
I thought he pantsed Sandilands around the ground.

Agree, once the stoppage was over he burnt Sandi off, always 5-10m in front of his man. Would have been awesome if he'd kicked one of those goals but I thought he had a good game against someone he pretty much stood very little chance against at the hitouts.

In form Golstein might pose a problem this week

Like in form Sandi and in-form Gundy the week before and in-form Gawn the week before that and the in-form McEvoy the week before that! And I think in-form Steffen Martin was in there somewhere as well.

Gives his all for his team mates.
Always has a crack.
Is a real contributor around the ground.
Fair dinkum effort.
Strong attitude.
So pleased he is a Richmond player.

Toby Nankervis has amassed 30 clearances so far in 2018

Toby Nankervis’ value to the Richmond side is further emphasised through a look at three key statistical categories so far this season.

After eight rounds, Nankervis is ranked third among Tigers players for clearances, third for centre clearances and third for contested possessions.

When you consider the two players just shading him in each of those three important areas of the game are midfield superstars Trent Cotchin and Dustin Martin, you can really appreciate Nankervis’ high level of performance.

The Richmond premiership ruckman has 30 clearances, Cotchin has 37 and Martin, 40.

He has 17 centre clearances, Cotchin, 18 and Martin, 30.

And he has 83 contested possessions compared to Martin’s 87 and Cotchin’s 98.

Overall this season, Nankervis is averaging 18.5 disposals per match, 4.4 marks, 3.9 clearances, 3.9 tackles and 22.1 hit-outs.

‘Nank’ again was one of the Tigers’ best players, in the Round 8 win against North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.

Opposed to a quality opponent in Todd Goldstein, he had 18 disposals, including nine contested possessions, six inside-50s, four clearances, seven tackles, 26 hit-outs and took six marks.

May not be near the top in hit outs( most irrelevant stat in footy) and I’m probably bias, however he has to be in AA calculations at this point of the year

Averaging 23 disposals. Getting better and better and hugely underrated. Is more than a workhorse

I have noticed in the last quarters he goes for a few direct clearances from the centre tap out. Presumably it is a deliberate strategy.
